The shop itself is well stocked, with a small range of fresh produce and lots of non perishables.
Most of the staff are fine but one of their long-standing members of staff really lets it down for me; she's very friendly but *only* to locals from Islay - when serving tourists her demeanor instantly switches to being sour, unfriendly and rude. I'm a regular visitor to Islay and have seen it multiple times, and have experienced it first hand myself as a non local.
So that's why I'm giving 2 stars, so depressing to see someone with such a parochial attitude behave like a spiteful toddler to people they don't recognise.

a lot of times when I go to the spar the workers stand around talking and I'm fine with that the problem is then they say are you going to buy something after 1 minute like I ruined their day

Great little deli. Found spices here we couldn’t find elsewhere. Great cheeses also.
