We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth.
Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks.
Whether you’re into a hot sandwich, a pasta salad, some delicious chicken goujons or a fresh cold sandwich – our meal deals are doing the most in a mouth-watering way. Bundle on whichever side takes your fancy. We’re talking crispy Southern Fried Potato Wedges, a classic bag of crisps, protein-packed egg pots, fruit pots or creamy yoghurt. Plus, grab a drink to top it all off. From a classic Latte or a Mocha to a Raspberry Lemonade or a crisp Iced Mango & Strawberry Cooler – it’s yours.
Pre-order on Click + Collect to skip the queue like a VIP, or get what you want delivered to your door via Just Eat or Uber Eats.
Whichever way you have it - there’s definitely one thing better than a Greggs – and that’s a FREE Greggs. The Greggs App has never been tastier. Packed full of seriously stomach-rumbling news, rewards and ways to order – it really is the inner circle for all things yummy. Plus, it’s a sure-fire way to bag some free treats - and who doesn’t love a free treat?

Solid Greggs. Nothing wrong or different in any way - good quality control. It's convenient location behind and past Bon Accord has gotten less and less convenient as shops close down, though. However, the silver lining is that this means it isn't super busy constantly.
This branch is very small - around 4 small tables that, in my experience, are always, ALWAYS taken. Treat it as if it had no seats. The place is so small, more than 6 people in single-file would force the line outside (nobody can get in or out on the off-chance it's busy like that).

Excellent place with nice city views. Just fast food with affordable prices. Good service place is clean but busy. You can watch city centre waking up while you take a sip of coffee and bite of breakfast roll.

Ordered steak pie, payed, had it in my hand and it was stone cold. No warning when asking for it until it was too late. Very poor communication from staff. They looked slightly annoyed when I pressed the issue and them saying its because our shop doors are open, and every item in the warmer was also stone cold. Shouldn't be allowed to sell them like that and pay full price for it too. At least warn the customers about this before they purchase.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
