Alec’s Honest Take
My honest take: I absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere of this place, it really feels like a cozy Irish bar/restaurant. The staff at the front were just okay; there were a few people at the host stand and they all seemed like they didn’t really want to be there. Our waiter, though, was great.
The food itself is excellent with tons of options. Unfortunately, I found a few long strands of hair in my sandwich, which was pretty unappetizing and took away from the experience.
Would I recommend this place - Yes but it wouldn't be my first in Savannah.
Walked in to get a few beers and get cooled off and stayed for several hours ! This place is great!!!! The Irish music and atmosphere here is a must place to go to!!!
To add to this review, we returned the next day to order food. I asked the staff member what was the restaurant favorite item to order: the Rueben they suggested.
I ordered the Rueben sandwich and it was DISGUSTING! It was 90% fat. They didn’t take the time to trim the cornbeef.
Do t bother eating here!

Oh man, I really wanted to love this place. I had been looking forward to going here for a while. The restaurant is beautiful and well decorated but that's where it ended. We were a table of 7 for lunch. It was busy but not crazy busy.
I ordered the classic reuben and my husband got the Dubliner Double Smash Burger and we decided we'd share them. Well the reuben... although it says it's supposed to be grilled, it wasn't, so there was no outside crisp to the bread. The marble rye bread were thick slices... so thick you could barely see the corned beef, or anything else inside the sandwich. There was hardly any corned beef or saurkraut on it and the corned beef was fatty. The bottom piece of bread was soggy. The double smash burger... I only took a few bites of my half. It literally didn't taste good. I don't know if it was the sauce they put on it or the meat but it was gross. The french fries that came with both meals... they are supposed to be hot and crispy... they were limp and barely warm. For a busy restaurant, this is unacceptable. I'd rather wait a little bit for my meal than have it be unappetizing. My husband was as disappointed as I was.

This was our last day in Savannah, and we chose Wexford’s over the place directly across the street in City Market, largely because of the signage and what appeared to be strong credentials, including the “USA Today 2025 Best Restaurant in Savannah” claim. After the experience, that designation feels more like a marketing tactic than something grounded in actual quality.
We ordered what should be the safest possible choices at an Irish pub: fish and chips and the Reuben, which was listed as a signature dish. To her credit, our server Ella didn’t seem particularly enthusiastic when we mentioned those items, which in hindsight should have been a warning.
The food was extremely disappointing. The fries were, without exaggeration, the worst I’ve had. They were dry, lifeless, and somehow worse than soggy potato chips. The Reuben was equally underwhelming, lacking any flavor. The fish itself was passable at best, but nothing about the meal justified the price or the setting.
What made the experience worse was the overall value and service timing. We paid and then waited roughly 25 minutes just to receive a receipt, which felt unnecessary and frustrating. Then, to add to that, there was a 3% credit card surcharge, something that might be easier to overlook if the meal had been worthwhile, but in this context it only added to the frustration.
In total, we spent $54 for two tap waters, an underwhelming Reuben, mediocre fish, and frankly inedible fries. That’s hard to justify by any standard.
To be blunt, this was an awful experience and one I regret choosing, especially given the number of better options nearby. We even watched another table get up and leave before ordering, and in hindsight, that was probably the right call.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because there is a significant gap between how this place presents itself and the experience it actually delivers.
