Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

The guy taking my order was nice but everyone else was moving slower than slow. While I stood there a minimum of 5 cars in the drive through got their orders. When I finally got my burger- I ordered a bacon and cheese burger- and they gave me a jalapeno burger, no bacon, just 1 lone jalapeno on it with brown lettuce in the center. First and last time here- disappointed in the food.

Normally, you would think long line, packed, busy place...but no, we were second in line behind a pickup truck. It seems like service just stopped and a car jumped the line to get out...we actually backed up and left without ordering. It was a truly brilliant waste of a half hour I doubt we will ever get back. Placed what I thought was a simple order (#2 combo only cheese/grilled onions/catsup/mustard w/onion rings and a drink). With no one in front of me I was able to pull right up to the window where I waited approx.12-15 minutes for my food. I had at least 2 people ask what my order was then was asked to pull forward for it to be brought out to me since there now like 6 cars in line behind me and their orders were being brought up to the window. The worker was very apologetic for my delay and provided a cookie for my trouble. I thought the frustration was over only to find out when I got home that my burger had all the items I asked to be taken off and no cheese added as requested and paid for. Perhaps that’s why it’s called “What” aburger…not sure “what” you’ll get?!?! Slow and wrong order…not a great combo for a fast food restaurant!!!

Every time I've been here dining in, I've had to wait 30 minutes MINIMUM to receive my order, and even then only after talking to an employee to check on it. Do not order a shake here, as half the time their shake machine seems to be broken or is being cleaned. The only good thing about this place is that it is open 24 hours. Only come here if everywhere else is closed.
