It has been 10 yrs since our last visit to Pappadeaux's... we do not have one in Florida.. decided to overnight in ATL and was able to get a reservation!! The food was amazing and just like we remembered!! We ate too much-but it was so good! The calamari was light and flavorful. The mule was EXCEPTIONAL! I had salmon, crab, scallops, and shrimp..so buttery good!! My husband had a creole dish and he left nothing behind!! The Key Lime Pie was the best we ever tasted to include KeyWest Key Lime!!

Wow... pretty much sums up everything about this place! When you walk in they have a beautiful courtyard area with outdoor seating. The inside is huge and has the perfect New Orleans ambiance. Everything that we tried was soooo good. We started with some margaritas and I suggest getting the large lol. We had oysters for an app and their Gulf oysters were huge, fresh and delicious. They serve them with the usual cocktail and horseradish, but they also give you like pickled chopped onions which add amazing flavor. (And where we're from in FL they're not served like that). I had the crawfish platter and their crawfish etouffee was the best I've ever had (including better than what I tries on Bourbon Street). My husband had the catfish and shrimp platter. Their portion sizes are huge. There's no possible way to leave there hungry. And I had to order dessert to go. Their keylime pie and their pecan/pumpkin. Both of those we're delicious as well. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

If you’re in the Cumberland area and craving something with bold Southern flavor, Pappadeaux definitely delivers on that front. I went with the shrimp and grits, and flavor-wise, they did not miss. The dish had a rich, well-seasoned profile—savory, buttery, and layered with that classic Cajun-style kick that Pappadeaux is known for. The grits were smooth and creamy, soaking up all that flavor perfectly, and overall it was a very satisfying meal. Now, one thing to note—the shrimp still had the shells on. Personally, I would’ve preferred them peeled, especially since I ordered it to-go. It’s a small detail, but it does change the experience a bit when you’re not sitting down with the full setup to enjoy it. On the service side, they did a great job. The staff was friendly, efficient, and made sure everything was handled smoothly, even with a takeout order—which is where a lot of places tend to fall off, but not here. Overall: Strong flavors, solid execution, and dependable service. Just a small tweak on the shrimp prep would take this dish to the next level. #BrianLetsEat #Nuveo #AtlantaEats #CumberlandEats #FoodReview #ShrimpAndGrits #SouthernFood #SeafoodLovers #ATLFoodScene #HonestEats

I hate to leave this review, but I feel it is necessary to help others. We went to Pappadeaux at Windy Hill to celebrate a birthday, and unfortunately our encounter was extremely disappointing. We ordered two appetizers, including the shrimp and crab fondue, and my son found a bug in the fondue. At that point, we immediately stopped eating. The manager came over, apologized, and said she would have another one prepared which we appreciated but we weren't sure if we even wanted it. We had to make a fast decision if we would leave or stay, but since it was Friday We honestly considered leaving, but we were starving and didn’t feel like going somewhere else, so we stayed. However, after that, we were really surprised that there was very little follow-up from the manager, no effort from management the attempt to recover the experience. Our server, Skye, was very apologetic and did what she could, but overall the customer service from management was extremely disappointing. At Pappadeaux’s price point, finding a bug in your food is already unacceptable, but the lack of proper service recovery made it worse. This should have been handled very differently, and quite frankly, the entire meal should have been compensated. What happened to making sure guests actually have a good dining experience? We chose not to escalate things in the moment, but I can say confidently that I will not be returning to this location. I would strongly encourage others to double-check their food.
