The store manager here is extremely unprofessional. On 2/4/26, I was checking out with a young lady who was seated while scanning my items. It was obvious she was injured or had some difficulty, but apparently that wasn’t a concern for the store. I asked her if it was someone that could help her bag, and she said no, so I had to bag a full cart of groceries myself. I then went to customer service to request a manager. The young lady there called for one, and he told her to ask her what was it I needed? When he arrived, he hurried past me with his finger raised, telling me to “wait” like I was a child while I was trying to greet him. Since when do customers get put on hold? Especially in such a rude manner! The young lady at customer service pointed me out to him, signaling that I was the one who wanted to speak with him. He approached without asking how he could help, just waiting for me to explain. I told him the young lady was hurt and that it was unacceptable that no one was helping her. I had to bag my own groceries, and with 15 employees stocking shelves, someone should have assisted her. Instead, he turned to the customer service staff and said, “bag assist on lane… that’s all you had to do was ask her what she wanted,” implying the call for help was unnecessary. The way he spoke to both employees and me was appalling. Some of us people of color, get into positions and forget where we come from. Kroger needs to do better at ensuring their leadership reflects respect and dignity for all.
