  Wanted the novelty to wear off a bit before going. Went today to order takeout about 130pm. Parking lot was packed but was able to find an open spot rather quickly. Kiosks were easy to use to order. Standard wait imo as far as food. A couple of issues were I paid extra for hot and sweet peppers and did not realize they were not added to my sandwich until I got home and my side of gravy was not secured tight enough as most spilled with in the bag. Food was good and I’ll more than likely be back but please make sure that extra paid for items are added to orders

  I was here at 10.50 pm, trying to place an order with my family. The self order screen wasn’t working, I hit submit right at 11.00. It said we can’t order planet based hot dogs, I go to registers asking them to do an exception, the people ahead of me had the same issue they raised their voice at the cashier and cashier placed the order for them. I was next cashier said no, I drove 30 mins was stuck in traffic and left without buying anything. This is bad business, my family didn’t buy anything either.

  Four of us in our party had lunch on Sunday at 1:30 PM. Very busy. All of us had the Italian beef sandwich french fries and a soft drink drink. all of us had mozzarella cheese added it did not come with the sandwich. Also two of us had sautéed onions. It did not come with the sandwich either. The sandwich comes with a lot of beef sweet peppers or jalapeño peppers. That’s all that comes with it. We chose the sweet peppers. They give you a lot of beef, but it was fairly bland. They did not seem to put any seasoning on it. Also, for all four of us, none of us seem to get any cheese. We could not tell if it had any cheese on it? The french fries were all hot, very impressed. It was very busy. It did not take us long to order the food. Also, once we did order, we received our food fairly quickly. They give the impression they have combo meals which are one through five; but when you look at the receipt, it’s all à la carte. You do not get a discount for ordering what they call a combo meal. They give a military discount of 10%. We really appreciated that. For our first visit, it was OK.

  I love Portillo’s. I always make a stop there whenever I go home to Chicago. My only gripe with this location is that the fries are never actually hot. Food is clearly prepared in batches and then held under heat lamps, so by the time it reaches the customer it has lost its fresh-from-the-fryer heat. I always specifically ask for hot fries, but I still receive warm ones. The issue isn’t wait time, it’s holding food after it’s prepared instead of serving it immediately at peak freshness.

  (Food Afficianado) I've been to this place after it opened in my neighborhood and others telling me it's good! So my curiosity spawned me to give it a try, I went online and the Italian beef caught my eye with a price of $10, however I went to the drive thru seeing that it wasn't very far, ordered the meal instead which ran about $18 and I thought it's a bit on the highway side but I decided darned it i may as well get it seeing that I am gonna review it anyway! So my view is the bread was very soggy bcuz i got the dipped sandwich, it's not for me! However i returned it and the manager was very helpful in changing the order without quarrel thx! Overall I would say it's worth a try, sandwich is very good portion plus fries and sweet tea was refreshing Overall Rating Cleanliness Atmosphere Staff 5/5 👍
