I’m talking about chicken pieces that clearly failed to meet the minimum legal size requirement for poultry, if such a thing existed. I expected a hearty, two-bite experience. Instead, I got tiny, spherical nuggets dusted with sauce that required the precision of a surgeon and the patience of a saint just to pick up. My dinner companions and I spent a full five minutes searching the box for the "meat," only to realize the "meat" was what we had been admiring for its resemblance to oversized popcorn kernels. Papa John's asks us to believe that their ingredients are "better." Well, their wings are certainly smaller—perhaps a bold statement in the competitive field of fast-food poultry shrinkage. I’m giving this two stars: one star for the excellent comedy value of the sheer disappointment, and another for the quality of the barbecue sauce, which was the only thing robust enough to hold these little fragments together.
