We placed a $60 order online and upon picking up the order, only one worker was available so I had to wait for him to complete the order (no problem at all). As I’m waiting on the order, an employee walks in, holding a dog in her arm, proceeds to go behind the counter in the kitchen area to clock in, then sits next to the counter as she waits for someone to pick up her dog. She informs the one guy working, Chris (turns out he’s a manager), she’ll go put the dog in the car and he insists she stays put with the dog. He finishes my order and sits it on the counter that the dog was previously near (the employee didn’t wash her hands upon going into the kitchen and clocking in either). At this point, I’m deterred but proceed to take my order. Once I arrive home, the gyro I ordered is completely cold, meat and bread, it’s advertised as toasted and shows on the receipt. My ultimate Italian was extremely sloppy and thrown together, and the bread was a bit charred. I proceed to call and make the complaint for the low quality of the two of my five sandwiches. An employer directs me to call the manager, Chris, who made the sandwiches. Upon notifying Chris of the low quality, he proceeds to become argumentative telling me he made the sandwiches the correct way and it’s just my opinion that they’re not of good quality. I inform him it’s not up to debate a customer on opinion for standard of quality and the gyro literally being cold when it says toasted on my receipt and when I place the order. I then inform him that if it isn’t toasted (semantics) it’s false advertisement on Jimmy John’s behalf. I ask how can the issue be resolved to which he says he will not refund me because he will have to refund the entire $60 not just the two sandwiches and his words were “I’m not going to refund a $60 order”. I inform him that at this point, I’ve witness health code violations as I watched his employee walk into the kitchen with the dog and stay there with no sanitary precautions taken. He then tried to argue with me saying “this is crazy bro, I told her to take the dog out”, a defiant lie. He proceeded to hang up on me. This was absolutely unprofessional and I’ll be sure to report this to the corporation and to the health department.
