I went on the recommendation of a friend. I will not say it was all bad but I think that there may need to be more help. My friend and I tried the Belgian waffle and fried chicken. The waffle was delicious but the chicken was under cooked. My other two friends had no issues. But we did get a refund of the food we could not eat. But we also had to ask for everything; water, napkins, creamer for coffee, etc. Then the gratuity was added with the meal and then request for a tip. I hope these young ladies were paid from the gratuity. Not enough service for a tip. Sorry. I would be willing to go again but will order a more simple meal.

Overall experience. I don't like that you have to order that the app like Uber Eats. I come to the restaurant for the experience and not to order through an app. Also, they don't have regular half & half for coffee smh. Only flavored lol. I asked for the original half & half and she brought me French Vanilla. Also, you have to pay up front before anything is brought to the table and gratuity is paid upfront as well in that tab. Smh.
The Huskey Sampler is simply amazing. The brisket was to die for! I cannot handle spicy foods, but the brisket has a sweet heat kick to it that was exceptional without burning the taste buds out of my mouth! The eggs were scrambled to perfection, the sausage was absolutely mouth watering and the Parmesan grits were unforgettable. Logan was kind, sweet and explained everything I needed to know as it was my first time dining with them. They had other delicious options, like battered chicken and waffle skewers, and I can’t wait to try those next!
The French toast was delicious, but unfortunately, that is the only positive thing I can say about this experience.
We waited over an hour for our food, and the atmosphere was constantly disrupted by a patio cover that slams incessantly. To make matters worse, it turns out the restaurant uses hot dogs instead of sausage. I’d appreciate if they labeled it as hot dogs instead of sausage on the menu so you can pick something normal.
The service and pricing transparency were the final straws. They have a mandatory tip policy, which is insulting given that the service is poor. They also enforce a "stealth" no-refill policy: half the drinks don't explicitly say "no free refills" on the menu, yet they refuse to refill them regardless. They failed to refill our water and we had to chase them for a box. It’s also mandatory QR code ordering and is quite expensive.

One thing to know before you go; a 20% gratuity is automatically added to every order, and it is charged before you even finish your order or get your food. That means you are basically tipping before you know if the service (or lack thereof) will actually be worth it. Then it still asks if you want to leave an extra tip, so definitely pay attention to that.
For us, the 20% gratuity did not feel justified. The server’s role was basically limited to seating us and bringing out the food. Beyond that, there was no interaction; no small talk, no explanation of the menu, no one checking in on the food, and no drink refills except for coffee.. literally no communication. Overall, the level of service was much less than you would normally expect, especially since there was only 6 other people in the restaurant at the time.
The biggest downside for me was the ordering system. There are no physical menus, just a QR code that takes you to a Square ordering site. QR code menus are common now, so that part was not a big issue (I swear I’m not a boomer), but the actual ordering process can be inconvenient, especially if one person is trying to pay for the whole table.
Some of the menu pictures could also be better. The grit pack looked like a normal small bowl in the photo, so several of us ordered it. In reality, one bowl could have fed like three people, and you really can’t tell that from the picture.
That said, the food itself was great. My group of four would give it a solid 5/5. Everything came out faster than expected, and we had the brisket sandwich, grit bowls, potatoes, and beignets. The brisket sandwich and grit bowls were big enough to share, and the beignets are definitely worth ordering. Coffee refills are free, but coke refills are not, which is kinda crazy for the price.
Overall, it’s a good brunch spot if you’re going just for the food, but I probably would not come back because the overall experience was hit or miss due to the lack of service and ordering setup.
