Arby's is a leading global quick-service restaurant company operating and franchising over 3,400 restaurants worldwide. Arby's was the first nationally franchised, coast-to-coast sandwich chain and has been serving fresh, craveable meals since it opened its doors in 1964. The Arby's brand strives to inspire smiles through delicious experiences. We are on a never-ending quest for the perfect sandwich, starting with the Classic Roast Beef and French Dip to the deli-style Market Fresh line of sandwiches and salads.
Chrissy did not have good customer service. My order taken in the drive through was made incorrectly and she became argumentative about everything - the incorrectly made sandwich where she didnt know what went on the sandwich, cold food, and "calibrated levels of ice" in my drink.
I requested a chicken sandwich with no mayonnaise and lettuce. Having a high risk pregnancy, I choose not to have mayonnaise on it. Chrissy did not know if tomato was on it and had to look into it, so I asked if I could sub the lettuce and have tomato in case it doesnt.
I had asked for no ice in my drink. I had finished a dentist appointment right before my visit and my teeth are sensitive to coldness. I think that was taken as extra ice.
My potato cakes were cold, they have have been sitting under the AC vent.
When I received my order I found these errors. Insteading of offering to offer at least an apology or remediation, she became unapologetic and argumentative. She was insistent that I was completely wrong and she put the order in properly. She in fact did not put the order in correctly, and the kitchen was actually closer to the correct requested build of the sandwich than what she rang into the system.
The potato cakes were cold and she also argued that "they were hot when I put them in the bag" even though the pie in the bottom of the bag was still hot when I checked my order.
She deflected the issue with my drink and blamed the drink machine as "the machine puts in a calibrated amount of ice" even though I requested no ice. I am not sure how a calibrated dispenser puts in ice automatically when ice is not requested.
At the end of the encounter, she proudly threw her title of "District Manager" to give herself some sort of authority or entitlement that would validate her argument.
Being a people leader myself, I find this behavior appalling. She was completely unable to take ownership of the issue and instead brings into question how she treats those who report under her. A district manager (or anyone for that matter) shouldn't throw a title in a customer's face as a way to invalidate and dismiss anything that she does not agree with.
I did not have a good experience, and I would reconsider spending my money at any location District Manager Chrissy is at. I had previously worked in a customer service oriented food service industry before as a trainer (Bob Evans) and I fully understand that errors happen between the order taking process and food handoff do happen. However, this is the first time I have encountered an incident where the customer was insulted by a people leader without having any self awareness.

This particular Arby's smells bad and had only 2 workers I saw. Felt bad for the short staffing, but sadly a bad experience
