I had an extremely disappointing experience at Bojangles Store #814 that needs to be addressed.
I traveled 30 minutes to this location and ordered a 12-piece dark family meal in the drive-thru with 2 mac & cheese, 1 dirty rice, and a half gallon of sweet tea, requesting that the majority of the chicken be thighs. Before arriving, I even called to ask how fresh the chicken was and was told it had just come out of the fryer about five minutes prior.
At the drive-thru, the employee repeated my order back to me and confirmed it correctly. When I pulled to the second window, the manager took my payment and handed me the box. I specifically asked if everything in the order was correct and she assured me that it was.
After driving another 30 minutes home, I opened the box and discovered the order was incorrect. Instead of a 12-piece dark meal, I received 3 wings, 1 breast, 5 thighs, and 4 drumsticks. The sides were also wrong — I received 2 mac & cheese and only 1 dirty rice, and the biscuits were burnt.
I immediately called the store and unfortunately the same manager who handed me the order answered the phone. When I began explaining that my order was incorrect, she interrupted me before I could finish my sentence and said:
“No ma’am, I made that order and it was correct.”
I calmly explained that it was not correct and that I had even video recorded the order once I got home. She continued to insist the order was correct simply because she made it.
When I told her the receipt clearly stated 12-piece dark family meal with substitutions for thighs, she responded:
“Well it’s not my fault she rang the order up wrong.”
At that point I explained that I had now spent over an hour of travel time just to receive incorrect food and asked what they planned to do to compensate for the inconvenience. Her response was:
“Ma’am I don’t have time for this. Just bring the food back and we’ll replace it.”
When I asked for the corporate number, she again said:
“I don’t have time for this.”
She then hung up the phone on me.
I have frequented this location for over 17 years, and I have never been treated with such disrespect and lack of professionalism. Mistakes happen in food service that’s understandable but the way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable.
I will be returning the food for a full refund, because I do not feel comfortable spending money at a location where customers are treated this way.
Based on this interaction, I sincerely hope management or corporate looks into how customers are being handled at this location. I can’t imagine I am the only person who has experienced this type of treatment.
