  this place is absolutely amazing and the customer service is beyond top tier! leng and his family are the sweetest people ever and the food/prices are SO great. everything being gluten free is great as my mom doesn’t eat gluten so it’s perfect. the turkey is to die for and the bbq sauce is just amazing. the portion sizes are huge. and get the banana pudding it is GOOD!

  I was introduced to It’s Different BBQ at Taste of Buford, a fundraiser for the Buford High School basketball teams. I loved that they were supporting kids in our community, and the food they had there was phenomenal! We had company in town for dinner last night, and we ordered Pulled Pork, Chopped Chicken, Cole Slaw & Brisket Fried Rice. The meat has incredible flavor and is so moist that it needs no sauce. The sauce is still amazing—somewhere in between north Alabama vinegar and Memphis thick BBQ sauce. The cole slaw is just how I like it! The Brisket Fried Rice is a new favorite of mine. I ordered online, and my complete order was ready on time. My whole family loved it, and my FIL asked to take some leftovers home for lunch the next day—he’s never done that before! We will be ordering more BBQ from here in the future!

  This place came highly recommended to me so I had to try! I got the brisket plate, sides of macaroni and cheese, and green beans. He threw in some burnt ends. Frankly, plenty enough for two meals for me! The brisket was just the right combo of fatty and lean, great flavor and smoke. The mac and cheese was perfect, creamy yet flavorful, and the green beans were some of the best I've had from a restaurant!! The family who owns it was super pleasant and you can tell they want to please. And everything is gluten-free! It's a small joint that used to be a Waffle House in this location - so glad it's now a hidden gem take-out barbecue place in Buford!

  Forget gluten-free, this place ranks as a top contender for BBQ nation wide. The chef is incredibly talented and has skillfully created flavor profiles that are distinct and amazing! Yes, it still tastes like BBQ, but after you eat and sit back in amazement— you will notice that “it is truly different”. Usually I don’t expect gf food to be amazing— I’m just glad to have options. But this place IS amazing! So worth traveling for!! Seating is limited; they have a picnic table outside and counter top seating that looks out the window. We ended up eating a lot in the car, but even 45 min later, the food was still fantastic. The Brisket Burger is the best burger I’ve ever had. The toppings and the sauce create a symphony of perfection. Buns? Held up even after a long drive and lots of sauce. Banana Pudding? The best. Even the green beans, which are usually just a side-dish-after-thought, stood out with distinct and balanced flavor. My kids were amazed and loved everything too. We will be back!

  Very good, authentic Texas-style barbecue spot serving up smoked sliced brisket, pork ribs, pulled pork, sliced turkey, and more. My favorites are the brisket and ribs. The brisket is succulent, fork tender, and juicy. Their ribs almost fall off the bone, but have the right amount of tug. They have some seasoning to them but aren’t slathered in sauce like Kansas City ribs. They have a great smoked brisket burger and occasional specials such as Dino beef ribs, brisket fried rice, burnt ends, pork belly, and more. Overall, this is some of the most perfectly cooked barbecue I’ve ever had. The flavor of the smoke penetrates deeply into well seasoned, high quality meat. One of my favorite hidden gems in metro Atlanta. Highly recommend.
