Flippin Egg Restaurant - Augusta, GA
My wife and I visited Flippin Egg hoping for a great breakfast experience, and while the service and atmosphere were genuinely welcoming, the food unfortunately didn't meet our expectations.
Our waitress was wonderful—attentive, sweet, and made us feel right at home. The warm, inviting atmosphere was exactly what you'd want from a local breakfast spot. However, the meal itself fell short of what we'd hoped for.
We both ordered the build-your-own omelet with cheese, onions, peppers, and sides of turkey sausage, grits, and hash browns. The omelet arrived with undercooked, watery vegetables and barely any cheese, giving it a runny consistency. The grits had an unusually stiff texture with a hard top layer, topped with unmelted shredded cheddar that didn't improve the dish. The turkey sausage lacked flavor and had an unappetizing, dense texture that was difficult to enjoy. We also noticed only margarine was available rather than real butter.
It's difficult to write this review because the staff was so pleasant and clearly care about their customers. That's why I'm sharing this feedback—I believe with some adjustments in the kitchen, particularly with cooking techniques and ingredient quality, this restaurant could truly shine. The foundation is there with the excellent service; the food just needs to match that same level of care.
