I have genuinely never written a bad review for any delivery order or restaurant experience before, but my experience with Vietvana was upsetting enough that I felt compelled to write my first negative review. To be clear, nothing was unsafe to eat, but the gravity of the mistakes made with this order meaningfully affected the meal and pushed me to share this feedback.
I recently ordered from Vietvana Pho through Uber Eats and was disappointed because several key parts of the order were missing or incorrect, which significantly changed the meal.
I ordered the spicy lemongrass pho broth, which I understood to be closer in flavor to bún bò Huế, but I received the regular pho broth instead. That completely changed the flavor profile of the dish I expected and paid for. I was specifically looking forward to the spicy, lemongrass-forward broth, so receiving a standard broth made the order feel incomplete.
I also found the regular pho broth to be much too sweet and not aromatic or spiced enough. Pho broth should have a careful balance of beefiness, aromatics, spice, salt, and sweetness, but this version leaned heavily toward sweetness. I would strongly encourage the restaurant to consider reducing the amount of rock sugar and increasing the aromatics and spices so the broth has more depth and balance.
The order also did not include complimentary sriracha or hoisin, which are standard with nearly every pho takeout or delivery order I have received elsewhere. Their absence made the meal feel even less complete.
I want to be fair and constructive, but this order missed some essentials. Between receiving the wrong broth, the overly sweet flavor, and the missing sauces, the dish did not deliver the experience I expected. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously, because getting the broth balance and basic accompaniments right is essential for pho.
