- CGCheray Griffin6 days ago1.0I am a really big tropical smoothie Café fan because I enjoy their smoothies. However, this location has bad customer service and negative vibes. As soon as I walked in, I was not greeted, but stared at. Before I ordered my smoothie, I greeted the cashier by saying “hello, how are you doing?” Just being nice trying to change the mood of the room a bit. She widen her eyes and still just stared at me, giving a dumbfounded look on her face and then said, “huh?” and then said “Ok”. As soon as I asked her how she was doing, an older lady walked up next to her, like she was backing her up or something. The older lady just stared at me as well, didn’t even say hello. I hope that lady wasn’t the manager. I don’t know if they feel threatened by African-American (black) people, but it feels that way. Like, everybody working there is having a bad day?! Even when I said thank you, as I received my smoothie, I just got a back turn and not a you’re welcome or anything. Management really needs training on how to train their employees on respect, manners, and general customer service. Like no one smiled or said hello… This location is not welcoming at all. I’m never going back and will advise my friends and family to do the same. We don’t support racism, nor do we support poor manners. They literally sized me up when I walked through the door. We may not have the same cultural background, but we are still people of brown skin. We are both brown. But first, we are humans. 🙄
