I've eaten here multiple times and have always enjoyed it. The food is tasty and the ingredients fresh. Everything I've had there has been good if not very good. I particularly enjoy the both shrimp and the fish tacos. They're both juicy and crunchy and are topped with a punchy dressing.
I'm not thrilled with having to order at the kiosks, but I can understand that it increases efficiency. The servers are friendly and will bring your food to the table and also clean up if you hang around long enough. Met the manager today and he is clearly very invested in customer satisfaction and that's key to the successful of any restaurant.
The day of the dead decor is vibrant and fun and the music level is just right for conversation. This last visit it was all in Spanish. I will admit I liked it more when the restaurant played pop.
Terrible online service. I DoorDash ramen birria served it cold and biscoff churros and they sent plain churros. I called and they said to come pick up next day however I was run over at a light DO NOT LIVE HERE, the next day and needed dinner so I figured I’d give them a second chance because I love birria. I called and asked if they could just place the biscoff churros in bag NO CHURROS like dang so much for the small wins in life lmbo.
Talkin’ Tacos did NOT disappoint! The food was fresh, flavorful, and packed with authentic taste, but the real star of the show for me was the Birria Grilled Cheese. It was perfectly crispy on the outside, cheesy and rich on the inside, and the birria was seasoned to perfection. Absolutely my favorite!
On top of the amazing food, the customer service made the experience even better. Kevin and Alexis were incredible, super friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed.
If you’re thinking about going, this is your sign. 10/10 recommend! 🔥

Nice atmosphere. The staff Kevin was really nice. Answered our questions and was helpful and attentive when we asked for items. I do think another guy worker was rude when Kevin was helping us. He did cut him off while he was talking to my table, we’re not from Atlanta so he was telling us about the restaurant. Besides that it takes a while to order because you have to put your own food in on a kiosk and some people take longer than others. I got the trio to try different tacos. I got a fish, shrimp and mushroom taco. And nachos. Personally I only liked the fish taco the mango lemonade was decent too.
Update: my friends wanted to come back before heading back to Chicago. Kevin was working again today. He worked the floor by himself going from table to table asking is everything ok and how’s the food. Still friendly, still smiling, still very helpful. I got something different today, shrimp taco salad which was better.

Talkin’ Tacos (the Buckhead location at 2625 Piedmont Rd NE, Atlanta) is a standout spot for anyone craving bold, flavorful Mexican-inspired eats with a modern twist. This chain, which originated as a food truck in Miami and has expanded to multiple cities including Atlanta, specializes in halal Mexican cuisine. Their menu highlights creative takes on classics, with birria (slow-cooked, tender beef) as a major star—think birria tacos, burritos, ramen, and even innovative fusions.
What really sets this place apart is the birria pizza, which was an absolute highlight of my visit. It’s a thin-crust cheese pizza loaded with juicy birria beef, onions, cilantro, and finished with avocado salsa and cotija cheese, plus a side of tomato soup for dipping. The combination of melty cheese, rich spiced meat, and fresh toppings creates this perfect balance of crunchy, savory, and slightly tangy—it’s indulgent without being overwhelming, and honestly one of the most creative items I’ve tried in Atlanta’s taco scene.
The rest of the food was consistently great too, with generous portions and fresh ingredients that shine through in every bite.
There was a small mix-up with my order (nothing major, just a detail that got overlooked), but the employees immediately stepped up, went out of their way to correct it quickly, and even threw in some extra care to make sure everything was right. That kind of genuine hospitality and problem-solving attitude turns a good experience into a memorable one, especially in a fast-casual spot.
Overall, Talkin’ Tacos delivers on flavor, creativity, and service. If you’re in the Buckhead/Lindbergh area and want tacos (or pizza!) that go beyond the ordinary, this is a must-try. I highly recommend it—I’ll definitely be back for more birria goodness.
5 stars! 🌮🍕
