If you’re an out of towner looking for food and drinks like me and my girlfriend. SKIP THIS PLACE!!!!. Food sucked, service was extremely slow, drinks overpriced and served in plastic cups. My girl is a bartender and I’ve sat in countless bars including hers that were 3-4x busier than this place and gotten WAY better service . Bartender seemed like a cool guy but shouldn’t be behind a bar. We were there for probably an hour and a half to two hours and were only able to order ONE drink each…. Thats insane!!!!!. I almost cried signing my 96$ tab. (2 margaritas 2 entrees and a 20 percent tip that i shouldn't have given). We went there yesterday and I'm sitting in the Stats bar/restaurant (MUCH BETTER SERVICE) writing this review hoping to convince you to go to Stats rather than margaritaville.

The service was sorely lacking in this place today. My party of 5 came in and was immediately met a sales pitch for a time share. Once we got seated we waited and waited a good 10 minutes before someone came over and said he'd return. Finally a nice young lady came over and said our original server was busy and that she would take care of us. She took our order for drink and food at the same time, and she brought out part of our drink order. It is the only thing we'd gotten. Finally when she comes back with the second part of our drink order, it is clearly incorrect, however the server tried to pass them on as what we order. I asked for the check and she told me they had started our food, at this point we'd been in the restaurant for about 40 minutes. We finally left. We did not pay for anything because we got nothing we'd ask for.

i would say don’t even bother emailing them if they reply to your review!! it is a waste of time!! still no response. since no one wants to answer my email… i'm not normally someone who complains but as someone who works as a server myself, i feel compelled to write about the absolutely horrible experience i had at your atlanta location on thursday, february 19th. my friend and i came from out of town and your restaurant was the first place we chose to eat in atlanta - what a mistake that turned out to be working in fine dining, i know what good service looks like and what we experienced was completely unacceptable. the food took an unreasonably long time to arrive and when it finally did it was clearly frozen and extremely overpriced. to make matters worse, the plates for our appetizer were dirty and i had to polish the silverware myself because it was wet and had food on it. this is basic hygiene and completely unacceptable but what really got to me was ordering a martini and receiving literally half of one served in a plastic cup for $17. seventeen dollars for half a drink in plastic is honestly under the jail criminal and completely unacceptable for any establishment, let alone one with your reputation. the lack of quality when the price of the food was crazy high for FIVE SHRIMP is reprehensible your manager stood at the host stand the entire evening and could clearly see the problems we were having but didn't bother to check on us once. as someone in the industry, i was shocked at this level of negligence from management we then waited so long for our check that we genuinely considered leaving without paying just to get out of there this experience was a complete waste of our evening and ruined what was supposed to be a nice night out in atlanta. i've never had such poor service and quality at a restaurant before and i'm genuinely shocked that this is what margaritaville considers acceptable i hope you take this seriously because this was truly the worst dining experience i've ever had

My 17 year old daughter convinced me to try it during a girls' day in Atl. As a huge Jimmy Buffet fan, I was fully on board. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The atmosphere was blah, Jimmy would be mortified. I only heard two of his songs the entire time we were there. The rest weren't even in his genre. For an appetizer, my daughter asked if they had queso. It wasn't on the menu, but our server said they did. The cheese was ok, yellow, not white, but the chips looked like they came out of a discarded bag I could have found on the back of my minivan; broken, stale-ish, but still decently edible. We didn't complain, but should have when I saw the bill and realized they charged $13.99 for it. Onto dinner...her fish and chips were pretty good. The fish was crispy and light. The fries weren't anything to rave about, but decent. I ordered the fish tacos, because I love a good mango salsa. I was so disappointed when they came and the salsa was nothing but tomatoes, onion, and a few bits of cilantro. When I asked our server, he left to ask the kitchen. Their response was that they forgot to take the mango out of the freezer, but even if they had, they only put a few pieces in the salsa anyway. Kind of odd when they called it mango salsa in the description. He did offer a replacement meal, but at that point, my daughter had eaten half of her meal and was ready to go. He did not offer a refund. Oh, and he asked if I wanted a side other than beans and rice, so I opted for a Caesar salad. My meal still came with the beans a rice, but I didn't think much of it until the bill came and I was charged $5.99 for the salad. Given the issue with my tacos, I didn't even bother bringing it up. Our meal came to $77, and I left a $15 tip, because I'm not a jerk, and they were completely dead, but I'll never go back. Lesson learned.

Visited on a business conference down the street. We had a large party and made reservations for 11:30. When we arrived at 11:20, the entrance area was packed, which we expected and understood. However, we waited at the hostess counter for 15 minutes until we were even acknowledged and checked in for our reservation. We were finally seated and told we would have to split up our party of 9 because only 8 fit at the table. It took 20 minutes just to get out drink and food orders taken and then another hour until we received our food. On top of that, the food was subpar. Dry, no flavor and cold and extremely expensive for what it was. One of our party also didn’t get their meal - a grilled chicken sandwich because ‘they have to cook the chicken’. Not sure why the chicken was cooked during the hour we waited, with the other food. They substituted a dry cheeseburger with unmelted cheese and no flavor. Nothing was done for us nor an apology made to our party. Completely unacceptable. Don’t go here - bad service and horrible food.
