While visiting Atlanta to see family, we chose FolkArt for Sunday brunch. They do have multiple locations, but we went to the Hapeville location since we weren’t aware of the others and wanted to avoid long wait times. Our party consisted of six people, and as you can see from the photos, everyone ordered something different no two dishes were the same. We started with the Craft Mimosa. Our first flavor was watermelon, which is shown in the photo. It was very good and had a strong watermelon flavor. The second flavor we tried was passion fruit, which wasn’t my favorite. For a table appetizer, we chose the macaroni balls. They were fried to perfection on the outside, but unfortunately, when I bit into mine, it was cold on the inside, which was a bit disappointing. For my entrée, I ordered the Foul Play (chicken and waffles). I asked for the toppings on the side just in case I didn’t like them. The waffle was delicious and didn’t even need syrup. The chicken breast was fried well and paired nicely with the waffle. Overall, even though the dish was simple, it was a great choice. Our waitress was very nice and informative. She explained the most popular and top-ordered items, which really helped with our selections. The indoor decor was nice and simple plenty art around. And also there is a bar inside. Will return. Yes I will

Aye let me just say this was a last minute audible and I came across this gem. I already knew what I wanted and it didn’t disappoint at all. The sweet potatoe pancakes (3) with an omelette and breakfast potatoes (krispy) with a dope toast. Yoooo!! Mos def and great meal and place to come back in town to off a mission.

The server was excellent—attentive, professional, and courteous throughout the entire visit. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the kitchen or the staff member who handled my complaint. I ordered the French toast. It arrived quickly and looked appealing at first glance, but once I cut into it, the exterior was clearly undercooked: soggy, wet, and coated in raw egg batter. I pointed this out to my server, who immediately brought someone from the kitchen (presumably a manager or cook) to the table. Instead of addressing the problem, this individual repeatedly insisted the French toast “looked fine” and “looked good.” When I asked directly whether the exterior of their French toast is supposed to be soggy and undercooked, he refused to answer the question, three separate times. He offered no apology, no explanation of preparation standards, and no willingness to acknowledge that raw egg batter on the outside of French toast is unacceptable. Only after several minutes of arguing did he finally offer to remake it, but by that point I had completely lost confidence that the kitchen could produce properly cooked food. I paid the full bill in full, not because the dish was acceptable, but because my goal was never a free meal, it was to have food served at a basic edible standard. The kitchen representative chose to defend a clearly defective plate rather than fix it. I’ve had several excellent experiences at this restaurant in the past, which makes this visit all the more disappointing. The server deserved better support, and customers deserve food that is fully cooked. Because of this dismissive and defensive handling of a simple, legitimate complaint, I will not be returning. Server: 5 stars. Kitchen execution and problem resolution: an unequivocal failure.
