I visited the Five Guys at the Atlanta airport on Sunday, September 21 and had a very disappointing experience. When I approached the counter, the cashier, Kiarah, greeted me with a noticeably bad attitude. I ordered a little bacon burger, only to be told they were out of burgers and only had hot dogs available. I went ahead and ordered a hot dog with ketchup, mustard, pickles, barbecue sauce, and hot sauce.
When I checked my receipt, I noticed that tomatoes were listed even though I never asked for them. While the gentleman on the assembly line was making my food, I politely asked him not to add tomatoes and to make sure mustard was included instead. At that point, Kiarah loudly yelled across the restaurant, insisting that I did ask for tomatoes. I explained that I did not, but she continued arguing back and forth, completely unprofessional and unnecessary since I wasn’t even addressing her.
As I waited for my order, she continued talking with other employees in the back, saying things like she didn’t “have time for this.” After I picked up my food and walked away, I could hear her and other staff members laughing and discussing the situation among themselves.
All I wanted was a simple correction to my order, yet the cashier made the interaction stressful, rude, and unprofessional. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in a busy airport where travelers just want a quick and respectful service experience.
