I stood there long enough to reflect on my life choices before being acknowledged. When I finally made it to the front, almost every food container looked like it had just survived a natural disaster. When asked “brown or white rice,” I confidently said brown, thinking fresh rice was about to appear from the back like a hero in a movie. Oh no. My man scraped the last few dry, battle tested grains from the bottom of the pan like he was digging for gold. It wasn’t even enough rice to legally qualify as a side. And he looked at me… we made eye contact… he knew. I knew. We both knew that rice had seen better days. The dining area? Let’s just say cleanliness was not winning employee of the month. No paper products stocked, limited forks, barely any hot sauce. It felt like I showed up 10 minutes before closing, except it wasn’t. Chipotle, I love you, but this location needs a reset. Fresh food, cleaner lobby, and maybe a little less rice archaeology next time. Do better. I’m rooting for you.
