Quite a disappointing experience! Planned my day around going to Azotea Cantina for rooftop brunch with a friend & her daughter. On arrival, we were told the rooftop is 18+ only, which is not noted anywhere on the website. Had we known this, we wouldn’t have eaten here or planned our activities around this location. We were seated immediately since the downstairs was practically empty but it took a while for us to get a server. I forgot our server’s name, but he was a young, queer guy who did way more talking than listening, so I had to repeat myself several times. I ordered an espresso martini, chilaquiles with shrimp, and a power yogurt bowl. Upon asking for an espresso martini, the server told me I didn’t want to order that because their guests usually send it back and that it’s not as good as expected. I was still going to order one anyway, but he again urged me not to, and to get a margarita instead (bc of course, this is what Mexican spots specialize in). So I succumbed to the pressure and begrudgingly got a margarita instead. Drinks came first and food came after, both took ridiculously long (20 mins for drinks & 30 mins for food), when the chicken tenders kids meal came out less than 10 mins after ordering. After the food arrived, the server came back to tell me the bartender told him that the espresso martini is actually very good if I wanted to order one of those too - TOO?! One has VODKA and one has TEQUILA! I didn’t want the margarita in the first place! No offer to make anything right for his stupid, misinformed push for me to get a margarita instead. Needless to say, I was pissed. Food was good but I won’t ever be back. 😒

I have been coming to this establishment for over two years, and for the first time, I witnessed truly poor service. I visited on a Saturday and ordered two dishes; after 20 minutes, they brought me only one, claiming they had forgotten the other. That meant another 20 minutes of waiting—and even then, they still didn't bring anything! Not once did the manager come over to check on us or offer an apology. I drove an hour just to eat here and receive this kind of service. My husband left without eating. I definitely will not be returning to this place.

I usually refrain from leaving reviews, but our experience was very upsetting today. We asked for silverware three times but were met with an angry server who slammed it on our table and left. My mom was disrespected when simply asking for silverware. Along with that, all the servers stood in this group, making it hard for us to get service efficiently. On top of that, we got a very small cup of corn for $9. It would be worth it if it was good. It was not. Tasted like steamed corn with nacho cheese. The tacos were pretty good but could have more filling. However they were served with what tasted like canned black beans and unsalted white rice. Overall, the food was very disappointing for the price. We spent around $26 for something we could’ve gotten for half the price at an amazing food truck. With the service combined with the food and the empty, boring atmosphere, we would not recommend coming here again.
