  We were celebrating my birthday! Reza was the manager and he did above and beyond for us and made sure our experience was great and we will come back for sure.

  Went there for lunch and ordered the Mississippi Catfish and Shrimp Etouffee, but the fish was not fully cooked. We showed it to the waiter, who then called the manager over. The first thing the manager said was, "Get me the fish," which left me a bit speechless because I did not know how to react. I said, "Sure, I will work on the Shrimp Etouffee and dirty rice while I wait for the fish you will replace." The waiter later brought another plate of catfish, along with shrimp and rice, as a completely new plate. I just ate the fish from the new plate, since I had already finished the shrimp and rice and had left the partially eaten fish on the original plate the waiter took away. When I first received the check, I did not notice there were two charges for my dish. I put down my card and handed it to the waiter. A few minutes later, he came back with another check and said it had been adjusted to take my dish off the bill. We assumed this was a complimentary gesture, which is what most restaurants would do to make up for serving an undercooked dish. However, when I signed the bill and double-checked the amount to calculate the tip, I noticed the check listed two orders of my dish. I then realized that when the waiter returned with the "adjusted" check, the manager had actually only removed one of the two identical charges. I assumed the waiter had entered a second order so the kitchen could prepare the replacement and that the manager intended to comp the dish for the inconvenience, but that is not what happened because the final bill still contained one charge for my dish. I went to speak with the manager to confirm whether it was correct to charge for two orders and then remove one as the "replacement." The manager confirmed that they had indeed charged two and taken off one. At that point, it was clear it was not a simple mistake; they had charged for the replacement plate and then presented the adjustment as if they were doing us a favor. I wish they had just kept the original charge for the one dish we ordered and brought a properly cooked replacement without saying they were removing it from the check. The way they handled the undercooked dish and the bill felt misleading and not very professional.

  Visited 12/22 to celebrate my birthday, before heading to the Avalon for ice skating. The food was excellent, but the service wasn’t reflective of Pappadeaux’s standard. My ID was checked immediately after ordering a Swamp Thing and perused. While my server failed to wish me a happy birthday, he certainly was lively enough to make distasteful jokes with my mom before she ordered a drink. I’m hesitant to return to this location, but sure it was the server.
