My group had three people and we were there for over an hour. We ordered small lunch entrees and it took forever. Our waitress forgot a lot of things and was just very slow. Not very nice and welcoming either. Food also tasted like leftovers that they warmed up in the microwave. I could have made all this food faster and better. Crispy develed eggs and cheese curds were good though.

We used to really enjoy this place when it first opened, but the last two visits have been disappointing. My son’s burger had a hair in it, and it took a long time to get a replacement. We ordered the butter cake—normally one of our favorites—but it came out looking like it had been microwaved too long, with a burnt center. When the manager finally came over, she wasn’t very sympathetic. After we showed her the burnt dessert and mentioned the hair in the burger, her response was, “That’s strange… our chef is bald.” That comment alone says enough. It used to be a great spot, but we won’t be back.

Hubby and I have eaten here many times, and it’s always been top notch. Friends came into town, so we recommended this restaurant to meet up. We sat near the bar, and it took a few minutes to get the waitress to take our drink order and food order. As we sat catching up, the sun was directly in our faces forcing us to rotate the table several times. The manager welcomed us and gave us free potato chips which were delicious. The restaurant was not that busy, and before we knew it, an hour had passed by without refills or our food. One of our friends finally had to get the attention of our waitress who was in the bar area. She seemed shocked our food wasn’t out yet. She hurried to the kitchen and brought back 3 of the entrees (Mine was missing) that had obviously been sitting under the warming lights for an extended amount of time. The food was cold and dried out. I encouraged everyone to eat thinking my food was on its way. Hubby’s hamburger was wrong and cold, grilled cheese was cold and congealed and meatloaf was also dried out and cold. They tried to eat it anyway as everyone was starving. We had to flag down the waitress for more drinks, and as I reminder her that I had no food she walked away so I had to raise my voice to be heard. My Kimbap arrived cold and dried out which had to be sent back. We also sent back two entrees which were replaced with freshly made versions, but I still didn’t have food. The waitress didn’t seem bothered that only 3 entrees were out. I had to flag down the manager when my friends were almost done eating to inquire about my food. It was a disaster, but no apology by the waitress. She came to clear our food before my entree came out and we were telling her we were still eating. My food arrived after my friends’ food was taken. No apology from the waitress who blamed it on the kitchen. By this time, our quick bite to eat had lasted 2 hrs, and our friends had plans to meet up with family. The waitress said she was getting the bill, and I asked “Is there a bill after this disaster?” Our waitress seemed taken aback at the question, and stated she would talk to the manager. The manager was extremely apologetic and showed us there was no charge for the food. We did not leave a tip as it was the waitress who had forgotten/ignored us for 2 hrs.

Lazy Dog has two locations near me. One in Sandy Springs and one in Alpharetta. I used to visit the Sandy Springs location, but the recurring breakdowns in basic service execution made the premium price point hard to justify. After moving, I gave the Alpharetta location a fair shot. Unfortunately it is the same story. Today they were moderately busy but not overwhelmed. I sat for thirty minutes before anyone even took my order. When I finally placed a to go order it was brought out and parked behind the bar and no one brought it to me until it was already cold. This is a pattern not an anomaly. The operational discipline is not there and the guest experience reflects it. At their price point this is a miss. I would not recommend this location based on repeated underperformance.

Had the joy and pleasure of coming to Lazy Dog this evening to wait an hour and a half for my entree. What a treat! No server came to our table with a party of 6 initially, and one of us had to flag a manager (?) To get us some waters and take initial orders of some appetizers. Usually, a server or someone will care enough to stop by to update you or ask if you need anything... but no, we didn't really get the basic treatment. We probably could've passed on and no staff member would've noticed. We were eventually served before closing time and shortly before dawn. Released from our purgatory, we continued the voyage home with bellies somewhat fuller and sorrow that we hadn't wasted our evening doing something more constructive than a venture to our local Lazy Dog. Cheers!
