  I work down the plaza from Woodys and go here on a regular basis because I enjoy it that much. The Buccaneer Sandwich is my go to and it is unique while being delicious. The Italian Wedding Soup is amazing but you have to order eat early because it often sales out. This is a South Tampa gem!

  Woody’s is the essential local deli for anyone who loves a perfect soup, salad, and sandwich combo. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and they never miss. The staff remembers what I order and always says hi. One of my favorite things is their daily soup rotation—they always have fresh, creative takes like Armenian Lentil, Tomato Bisque, and Lemon Chicken Feta. You can tell everything is made with fresh ingredients. Their Chopped Greek Salad is easily the best in Tampa, and you have to get a side of their potato salad. In my opinion, it’s the best potato salad you can find anywhere!

  The first time I went to Woody’s, I had a wonderful experience. The Greek salad wrap was divine even though most of the Greek salad was on 1/2 and almost nonexistent on the other. I was excited to get their small chopped Greek salad today but I was really disappointed that I could not find any potato salad in it at all. At first, I thought I miss ordered, but then I checked their menu and it is supposed to have potato salad in it. It was the main reason I went with theirs instead of Greenlane. As you will see on the receipt, I ordered a chocolate chip cookie and instead received an oatmeal raisin cookie. I do blame that part on me for not double checking when I was in the restaurant. I just looked briefly and saw there was a cookie in the bag. I hate oatmeal raisin. I honestly wouldn’t have cared if it ended up being a peanut butter cookie, but it’s one of the few cookies I refuse to waste calories on. Truly, if it had just been the cookie, I would have chalked it up to a funny way of fate intervening so that I don’t eat empty sugar calories. However, I was super disappointed in the lack of potato salad. My coworker eats here all the time and so I will still recommend them, but I can’t give them a five or even four stars because I’ll also caution to check your order before you grab it (and make sure they give you potato salad if you want it)!
