Came to Sal Y Mar and tried the chicken milanesa, the arepita Reina, and a shrimp salad. The presentation was really nice and the dishes looked very fresh. The chicken milanesa was well cooked, crispy on the outside and tender inside, with good flavor overall. The arepita Reina was really good, flavorful and well prepared. The shrimp salad was also very good, fresh and light, with well cooked shrimp that added a nice touch. The drinks were really good too and complemented the experience. The place itself has a great vibe, especially for a night out. Unfortunately, due to the rain we couldn’t sit outside, but it looks like it has a really nice view. Just a little disappointed because they don’t have the tostones anymore even though it’s still shown in the elevator.

This weekend I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing Sal Y Mar Rooftop Bar, and it was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed—perfectly balancing energy with comfort. The views alone are worth the visit, creating a stunning backdrop for an unforgettable evening. The service truly stood out. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, genuinely warm, and clearly passionate about creating a great guest experience. It felt like hospitality in the truest sense—The Manager Erin stopped by our table to ensure we had an enjoyable experience. The food and cocktails were equally impressive. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor, and the cocktails were creative, balanced, and expertly crafted. You can tell there’s real intention behind the menu. If you’re looking for a spot that delivers both experience and excellence, Sal Y Mar Rooftop Bar absolutely delivers. I can’t wait to go back.

Horrible customer service. I payed to be at an event hosted at Sal y mar and it is safe to say it was my first and last experience here. I was served a drink that I was unsatisfied with, so I went back up to the bar and asked if I could swap it for a beer which was the same price. The bartender was very sweet and compliant, but there was a manger/supervisor hovering over her shoulder who told me that that I’m not allowed to swap out a drink that I’m unsatisfied with and would have to pay for a beer. I then went to another part of the bar to see if they would let me get a new drink and the supervisor followed me there pretending to do something to make sure that I didn’t get a free drink. I’ve always worked in the food industry and it’s common sense that if a customer is unsatisfied with a product you offer them a new one. After giving up and buying a new beer I asked to get an orange slice with my blue moon and received the dirtiest look from the supervisor. It was such and uncomfortable interaction. I will never be coming here again. Very disappointed in Sal y mar.

Went here for my Birthday dinner and what a disappointment. Sat for 15 minutes before being acknowledged. My daughter’s drink had a bug in it. She went to the bar and was told that it was a vanilla bean. Since when does vanilla bean have legs. The manager kept insisting that it was not a bug believe me it was. What happened to customer is always right not here. We didn’t know it was the manager we were speaking with because he didn’t even introduce himself. The menu doesn’t give you good options and no substitute is allowed on the sides . What? Up charge at its finest order another side. Never ever will I come here service is horrible. Shame shame on you Sal y Mar. Servicios horrible nunca voy a ir. Sal Y Mar. Never Nunca

Let me start by saying the vibes at Sal Y Mar Rooftop Restaurant are impeccable. The views? Stunning. The decor? Absolutely on point. When I first walked in and sat at the bar for a drink, I was in heaven. If you’re just looking for a spot with great ambiance and a solid drink, I’d give it a 10/10. The bartender was fantastic, and the initial atmosphere was perfect. But now, let me get to the real meat of the review—this was the worst dining experience of my life. Seriously, the service was so horrendous it deserves its own horror movie. We went as a group of friends, and the waitress acknowledged us exactly twice in an hour and a half. TWICE! From the moment we were seated, it took 20 minutes for her to even say hello. We ordered drinks, and guess what? Another 20+ minutes just to get them. By the time we placed our dinner order, we had been sitting there for 40 minutes. And then, the food took over 45 minutes to even think about showing up. By 8:40, with a 7:00 reservation, we still had no food. We ended up leaving hungry and frustrated. The night manager’s excuse? Their internet was down, which somehow translated to our waitress ignoring us and no food arriving. The cherry on top? They had plenty of heaters, but no propane because they decided winter was over. So, we were freezing as the sun set, and they wouldn’t move us inside since we didn’t reserve an indoor table. We ended up leaving before the food even hit the table. The only saving grace was that they comped our appetizers and drinks, acknowledging how bad the service was. So, if you’re in it for the Instagrammable views and a good cocktail, go for it. But if you actually want to eat and be treated like a human, avoid this place at all costs. Worst service in Tampa, hands down.
