  I dined at Roccos on 10/24/2025 for the first time with a 9:30pm reservation. We were immediately seated. The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and can make for a romantic setting. We ordered the tableside guacamole as an appetizer, and was sadly disappointed by the bland taste as it lacked salt and spice. However, we were still hopeful for our entree. My boyfriend ordered the birria tacos and I, the enchiladas. Unfortunately, both meals were absolutely disgusting. The tortilla on the tacos tasted like nasty dishwater. The meat inside was completely dried out and the consomé was tasteless and bland. My enchiladas were dry and hard, and were barely saved by the rice and refried beans. Luckily, our server (when he was around), removed the birria tacos from the check. I do not plan on dining at this establishment in the future, nor will I recommend it to anyone who is looking to eat this area.

  We arrived 45 min early Saturday at the bar had drinks while waiting for our party to come. We were a party of six my niece made the reservations. The bartenders was so outstanding Drinks perfect. The hostess was very nice. Our server Jessica R. was not nice she never smiled, she’s made the Atmosphere not so nice. I have been at Rocco’s many times before and I’ve never had an experience as I did this time. I ordered a chicken flautas appetizer as I always do. Table guacamole chips, salsa queso. I always ask for a little bit of lettuce extra tomato slice avocado on my plate to eat with my Flautas. She Acted like she’s never heard of that and had an attitude. I told her they always charge me for a side.They would not do it I tried to explain several times. it’s not like it’s something you don’t carry. I was there a month ago no one ever questioned me. I also ordered to go several times after shopping and never had issue. They took care of me always charge me as you do for extra.. Even your manager Was not very pleasantly nice I could not remember his name he was an ethnic guy He came to our table and would not do it either. Try to make me buy a large salad. Never in my life did I feel Such bad vibes with the experience of the way your manager and waitress was. Every time I have family in town We bring them here wonderful experience past I’ve never seen these two people ever in this restaurant Why do several of your people do something and not the other? I wasn’t asking for a huge thing a little handful a salad Lettuce with extra tomato and a little sliced avocado. Both would not do it. Big attitude. If you have a camera please review and see there faces and had motions. I can tell you one thing I will let all my friends know and I will never be back again. If it would’ve been just me and my husband, I would’ve walked out paid for our cocktails.Good bye. But the other four I did not want to do that to them we talked about it again last night when we went to dinner We still couldn’t believe that happened. Like I said never in my life we eat out often. Our total bill is $250. Paid cash We would’ve had a few more cocktails after we were all ready to go. Not so happy. Check number 371 11/14/25 @ 7:11 Ginger F

  Family was visiting and wanted to treat them to a great Tampa experience. We started with the chips and (3) salsa’s. Each was delicious and varied, not overly hot, just great flavor. Be careful you save room for your dinner as it is hard to stop eating the chips and salsas’s. I had the battered fish tacos and they were the perfect balance of crunch and sweetness from the sauce. I will order again. My family tried the chicken tacos and loved them as well. Thank you so much Rocco’s for impressing my family!

  It seems to be a trend in Tampa that restaurants claim they have authentic Mexican food yet it tastes like American-Mexican food. This place was no outlier to that theory. The chicken in the tacos tastes like it is marinated in sugar. There was no lime, I couldn’t taste the crema. The “handmade” corn tortillas were so thing and delicate they were falling apart. The waiter failed to take both of my friends orders correctly. I asked him to put on the heater since we were sitting outside and that was never done. They pride themselves on having over 50 types of tequila yet the one I asked for, which is now pretty common, they don’t carry. This is just another big chain pretending to be Authentic something just to bring people in. If you want a real Mexican taco, you’re better off going to a food truck and paying less for better quality. Sorry for the bad review but I’m just being as honest as I can.

  We waited a bit before being helped, and Alena passed our table a few times. On the third pass, she noticed we hadn’t been served yet and immediately stopped to assist us. From that moment on, everything turned around! She was genuinely apologetic, attentive, and provided exceptional service. The food was delicious, the drinks were perfect, and Alena’s professionalism and friendliness made the whole experience worth it. We truly appreciated how she stepped in and made sure we were taken care of. Thank you, Alena!
