You would think this place would be competitive given all of the other steak places in Tampa. But they fail miserably. It took three tries to get my steak temperature correct. That's a fundamental failure that is just simply embarrassing for a high end place. And the waiter disappeared during this entire time, leaving the manager to deal with the situation. The waiter had a major attitude problem as it was, making statements that were embarrassing to himself and my guests. In fact, he directly insulted one of my guests because he felt he had to make a comment that was completely unnecessary. Now, if this was a one off then you'd just say they were having a bad day. In reality, this was my third time here and the inconsistency of food and service makes it hard to come back. The "other" places around town are totally consistent even if not spectacular. They are more deserving of you money than this very overpriced Outback (yep - same owners).

Dining at Fleming’s was a truly memorable experience, highlighted by how exceptionally delicious the food was. The asparagus stood out in a surprising way—perfectly tender with just the right amount of char, seasoned simply yet expertly to enhance its natural flavor. It was the kind of side dish that could easily be overlooked, but instead it complemented the meal beautifully. The tomahawk steak was the star of the table: richly marbled, cooked to perfection, and bursting with bold, savory flavor. Every bite was juicy and satisfying, clearly reflecting the care and skill put into its preparation. Beyond the food, the atmosphere at Fleming’s elevated the entire experience. The restaurant exuded elegance, from the polished décor to the warm, attentive service that made the evening feel special without being overwhelming. Soft lighting and a refined ambiance created a comfortable yet upscale setting, perfect for a celebratory dinner or an evening out. Overall, Fleming’s delivered not just a meal, but a refined dining experience that balanced incredible flavors with a sophisticated, welcoming environment.

It pains me to have to leave this review for a place that I was so excited to have my first meal at. We went to lunch around noon on a Sunday and the wait for our food was insane. It was over an hour before we received food. When the food came unfortunately my daughter didn’t like the red onion confit. That could happen anywhere and thankfully they replaced the burger. I shared my meal with my child and we took the burger to go. Unfortunately the confit was still on the burger when we got home so we ended up trashing that meal altogether. Lastly, once our food came our water glasses were never refilled despite multiple people walking past us with water. I was so excited to try Fleming’s for my first time after receiving a gift card. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be back.

This is my second review for Fleming’s in Tampa, because it truly deserves it. It’s one of my favorite places, with consistently excellent service and incredible food and cocktails. My son and I love coming here for Tomahawk Tuesday, and it is always a solid, dependable, and enjoyable experience. Last year, they demolished the old building and built a completely new Fleming’s that is almost double the size (reopened a few months back). They’ve hired more servers and bussers and are now able to serve a much larger number of guests while maintaining the same high level of consistency and service ~ which is impressive. Our New York strip and filet, topped with lump crab meat, were outstanding. The Brussels sprouts and Fleming’s potatoes were absolutely delicious. The drinks were fantastic, and the desserts were as good as always. We were completely full and still couldn’t resist taking the cheesecake to go ~ and their lava cake remains one of the best! Huge praise to management for excellent training, attention to detail, and consistency. Fleming’s Tampa continues to set the standard, and we’ll definitely keep coming back.

This year I decided to order the holiday bundle carry out meal for an early Christmas dinner with my elderly parents and family. Getting older is making dinner prep too difficult and seems to take away from the visiting. After speaking with Melissa, Regional Sales Associate who was wonderful to work with!! Kudos to Flemings for having her on the front lines, I chose the beef tenderloin, cooked medium rare. I asked for it uncut, in case we needed to add some heat in the oven. It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and delicious. Easily cut with a butter knife, flavorful, and juicy!! Thanks Chef!! The sides were equally as good. The Fleming potatoes were a hit and there were plenty to go around. The asparagus was roasted perfectly and we all loved it. The salad was pretty and festive with lots of color. Even the picky salad eater enjoyed it and had a second helping. The bread came with special spreads which added to the enjoyment of the meal. The demi glace and horseradish sauce were a nice accompaniment to the tenderloin, delicious. The grand finale was the best carrot cake I have ever eaten!! I would give this experience 10 stars in the review if I could. My recommendation if you want a delightful no fuss gourmet meal, packaged professionally for transport, choose Flemings! You won't be disappointed!! Cheers!!
