Extremely Disappointing Experience – Serious Concerns with Service, Food Safety, and Quality
Unfortunately had a very poor experience from start to finish. There are several areas that need immediate attention, as an honest reviewer here we go:
**ADA Accommodation**
I called a day in advance to request a booth due to an injury and was assured it would be accommodated. Upon arrival, the hostess was dismissive when I mentioned the request and initially directed my party to the back of the restaurant, despite multiple open booths in the front. After asking again, she allowed us to sit at a booth but only after unnecessary inconvenience and lack of professionalism.
**Food Allergy Handling (Major Concern)**
I clearly informed the waitress of a Red 40 allergy that causes me to become ill. I was initially told that none of the items contained it. However, after reviewing ingredient information myself, I found that some items did include Red 40 dye which makes me have a severe respiratory allergic reaction.
When I brought this to a manager’s attention and asked about substituting an item, the conversation went as follows: Me: "Hi, I made the waitress aware that I had a Red40 dye allergy and saw that one of the items does have that. Can I substitute it?"
Her: "Okay"
Me: "Yeah I just saw that it said I could right here (shows menu) so wanted to make sure."
Her: "Yeah I just told you yes." walks away
Me: 🙃 *welp doesn't give any suggestions
Her: *Comes back with a random replacement that I didn't ask for*
The interaction was dismissive and unhelpful. I was given a vague “yes” with no guidance or care, and a replacement item was later brought out that I did not request. This lack of attention to a food allergy is not only unprofessional it is potentially dangerous.
**Food Quality**
Overall, the food did not match menu descriptions or expectations.
* The first course was decent.
* Shrimp and grits were acceptable, but the shrimp was not grilled as described.
* The main course was extremely disappointing: the English muffin was hard, and the salad and potatoes tasted stale and dried out. The crab cake and egg preparation were also questionable.
* Dessert (French toast) was inedible it had an off-putting smell and taste.
* Drinks were overwhelmingly sugary and unbalanced.
**Final Thoughts**
This experience raised serious concerns about both food safety and service standards. Due to the staff’s dismissive and inattentive behavior, I did not feel comfortable addressing these issues further in person. I paid and left.
As a legal assistant, I strongly encourage management to review staff training especially regarding ADA accommodations and food allergies as well as overall food quality and consistency.

Believe it or not- dined in for both dinner and lunch today. Wonderful service from Destiny and Shawn- big toss up on who was more friendly and attentive. Food was excellent- bang bang shrimp is so good, best calamari I’ve had, and the Brussels sprout (side) salad was crisp and tangy. Highly recommend.
The restaurant is always super clean, the staff is more than accommodating. The salmon is always good, and I really like the bread, the Caesar salad, and the flourless cake too. It’s one of those places where you know exactly what you’re getting every time. it’s easy to get in and out without any hassle as well.

Three words: ASK FOR Destiny 🤩
From the moment we sat down, her energy was warm, welcoming, and on point. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and takes pride in what she does. She didn’t just take our order… she created an experience. Attentive without being overbearing, quick on her feet, and making sure every detail was right the first time.
The customer service was SERVING!!
Drinks never empty. Food came out smooth. Questions answered with confidence. And the attitude? Sweet, professional, and just enough personality to make you feel like family.
It’s rare these days to come across someone with that level of work ethic and excellence. Destiny is a whole asset to that restaurant, and Bonefish better hold on to her tight 💯

What a wonderful day! Started with warmth and sunshine. Took the kids to the river to see it turn Green. Then off on our own and decided to do dinner at Bonefish Grill. Great choice! Greeted immediately and sat right away. Our server Anna was Amazing!
She walked us through the entire menu and was so sweet! Looove her!! Our dinner was fantastic..Lobster bisque .. Ceasar Salad.. Wahoo.. Mahi.. and of course Key lime pie!! Everything was wonderful and again Anna was the icing on the cake! Thank you for all you do!
