The place has a true classic diner vibe, with walls covered in vintage photos and circus artwork that tell the story of its rich history. You can feel the character of the place the moment you walk in. The famous Italian Sub absolutely lives up to the hype. The bread is thin and crispy, the sandwich is packed with bold flavor, and the peperoncini add just the right spicy kick. If you love a hearty sandwich, definitely get the double meat—it takes an already amazing sub to the next level. So delicious and totally worth it. One of the coolest parts is learning the history behind the shop. It was founded in 1958 by former circus performers who brought their European roots and traditions to Sarasota, creating the now-famous Italian sandwich inspired by Florence, Italy. The photos and artwork around the shop celebrate that circus heritage and give the place a timeless, nostalgic feel. Great food, great history, and an atmosphere you won’t find just anywhere.

  the perfect gem of a sandwich shop. I had the new yorker. Shaved roast beef on a kaiser roll with a horseradish sauce. By far the best sandwich I have had in Sarasota. 10/10 Recommend!

  Great food, service, and an old school atmosphere you don’t find anymore. Everyone is extremely friendly and the portion size is plenty big- you will not leave hungry. 5 stars in my book

  We ordered 12 Double Italian Sandwiches to serve at a family luncheon pool party. Everyone complimented the sandwiches. They were absolutely delicious! We love this restaurant!

  Just happened across this gem! When you walk in the smell of absolutely fantastic sandwiches will amaze your senses! This place has been around forever and I heard other patrons talking about how it's exactly the same as it was in the it's and that the new owner (not sure how new he is) didn't change the menu a bit! I love it when a restaurant can hold its own over time and you can always come back for THAT special item and it'll always be there. Definitely coming back to try more sandwiches
