I pulled up to the drive-thru 15 minutes before the posted closing time, after getting off work, because my boyfriend had been craving tacos. Instead of being greeted properly, I was first told the store was closed. When I made a lighthearted comment about just wanting to grab a few tacos, another employee came on and said they “couldn’t give me anything because they were out of product.” When I questioned how a location could still be open but have no food, I was told they were out of beef but could make “anything fried.” This is Taco Bell — what does that even leave on the menu? Then I was offered a taco with only lettuce and onions, which made no sense. A moment later I was told they could make anything I wanted, and then again that it had to be fried. The answers were completely inconsistent and unprofessional. To make things worse, the employee refused to provide her name, the manager’s name, or even the store number when I asked. If a location is out of major core ingredients or is no longer serving customers, it should close early and update its hours — not give customers the runaround at the speaker. This was frustrating, a waste of time, and very poor customer service.
