  Stopped in for lunch. Great new menu offerings plus the old favorites. Wish the sauce bar was still around. Definetly recommend!

  Yesterday, after pausing from my Doordash side-hustle for a late afternoon lunch, I chose to visit Pollo Tropical on Fruitville Rd in Sarasota. It was just after 3pm, and as I walked in, there was a group of people in uniform, all gathering together for a picture. It dawned on me that it was the Pollo Tropical staff. The energy was so positive, I felt inspired to help them in any way I could. There was no customer traffic, I just happened to walk in during the brief time they were taking to gather for a picture. I was curious about why they were taking a picture when I was informed by Christopher Santana, the General Manager, that the restaurant had just passed their health inspection with a perfect score. To witness the exuberance of an entire team on a win in the hospitality industry was a breath of fresh air. I have been here several times in the past, and have to state that this Pollo Tropical delivers on service with a smile. I offered to help in taking the picture to include Christopher, but he humbly declined, and went on to say that they did the work, and he wanted them to get the credit, a powerful example of leadership, another breath of fresh air. Christopher then offered to take my order while the group was still getting ready for the pictures. I was grateful and shared my desired menu selection. To my surprise and delight he said, "It's on me.". Talk about showing up at the right place and the right time! I then insisted on helping take the pictures, and he accepted my offer but insisted on the team that did the work to be in the pictures. The energy of that entire team was contagious. I even felt inspired for the entire team to shout out "Pollo!" during one of the shots. After the shots, my food was quickly and deliciously presented for me to take to my desired table near a window. I captured my Avocado Chicken Salad, then ate to my heart's content! While eating, I approached by a friendly staff member that observed that I didn't have sauces to go with my salad, and agreed to their Chipotle and Pineapple Rum sauces, that only enhanced the fusion of flavors and texture of my dish. Another staff member came over just to check on me to see if everything was ok and wanted to know if there was anything else I needed. I cannot stress enough how I was blown away by the level of service I received at Pollo Tropical. The food is fresh, and the Caribbean fusion menu options they offer are all worthy of multiple visits. The atmosphere is clean with a warm color scheme with an abundance of natural light. It was my honor and privilege to witness a level of excellence I rarely experience in fast food by a team that that exude pride, respect, collaboration and joy! Kudos to Christopher Santana and the amazing staff at Pollo Tropical on Fruitville Rd in Sarasota...a MUST VISIT destination in Souhwest Florida! Please tell them that Wes referred you!

  Mediocre at best. I've had Pollo Tropical from several locations. This is definitely not on the top of the list for food quality and freshness. It's better than traditional quick service though. And the staff seem friendly.

  I went through the drive thru and ordered chicken, rice and beans. The service was excellent, the person I dealt with was kind and my food came out extremely quickly. Though the rice and beans were great, the chicken was a bit disappointing... a bit salty. The cilantro sauce I ordered helped make it better though. I could also tell the bread was frozen (which is expected at this type of establishment) but it made my throat hurt. For $10, I'll definitely return and maybe try something else on my menu.

  We went to the Fruitville Rd location and placed an order for two number two’s and a number 4 and a side of guacamole. They said steak would take five minutes to prepare and we waited over 20 minutes. All of this was through the drive through. I get home and we have two number one’s and number four was number 3 and no guacamole. I live 15 minutes east of your location and did not drive another 15 minutes to return it. They charged me correctly and gave me everything except for what I ordered. Poor customer service and they were not even busy at the time. I just wasted 40 dollars for beans and rice and small amount of chicken and steak for 3 people. I would not recommend this location.
