  I’ll be so honest, I hate pollo tropical. I don’t like anything on their menu, their sauces don’t speak to me, and I’ll never understand the fact that you can’t do a tropichop bowl with pork. But that’s not why they received their crappy review today. Again I hate pollo tropical, so if I am here I am always on my last leg. So when I go in today to order something, as a compromise, and I am told they are out of the one menu item I convinced myself to get because they are out of steak…. It results in a shitty review. There was also so much congealed urine in the men’s room that the grout was bright orange, not yellow…

  I recently visited Pollo Tropical and had an excellent experience. The food was fresh, flavorful, and very well prepared. The restaurant was clean, organized, and welcoming. However, what truly made this visit exceptional was the outstanding service provided by a team member named Yeny. From the moment I sat down, she was constantly walking around the dining area, checking on every table, asking customers if everything was okay, and making sure no one needed anything. She was attentive, proactive, and genuinely engaged with every guest. I saw her cleaning tables, serving at the front counter, and always maintaining an incredible smile. Her attitude is rare. Yeny serves with warmth, patience, professionalism, and real care. You can tell she takes pride in her work and truly values the customer experience. Her smile is captivating — it truly made my day happier. In today’s world, it is not easy to find someone who works with this level of dedication and positive energy. I was honestly surprised and impressed by her kindness and professionalism. Employees like Yeny are the reason customers return. She is a true asset to Pollo Tropical and absolutely deserves recognition for the difference she makes every single day.

  My family loves the plantain bites, roast chicken with cilantro garlic sauce, and Caesar salad. We were staying at a nearby hotel and this was the only place open past 10 pm where we could get a healthy family meal after a ball game. We’ve been back a few times during our stay in Sanford. In addition to the good food, the staff have been very kind and pleasant—shout out to Angel and Pedro.

  We had such a fantastic experience at Pollo Tropical in Sanford that I had to share! From the moment we walked in, everything felt fresh, fast, and flavorful. The aroma of citrus-marinated chicken on the grill hits you immediately — and it absolutely delivers. The chicken was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and grilled to smoky perfection. The rice was fluffy, the beans were rich and savory, and the plantains were caramelized just right. Every bite tasted vibrant and intentional. But what really made the experience stand out was Gabriel at the front register. He was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly accommodating. He answered our questions confidently, made helpful suggestions, and ensured our order was exactly right. You can tell he genuinely cares about the customer experience — and that kind of service makes all the difference. It’s rare to find fast-casual that feels this consistent and this welcoming. Clean restaurant, efficient service, great energy, and food that actually tastes homemade. We’ll absolutely be back. 🌴🔥

  This location, by far, has the most consistently disappointing service I’ve experienced. I come here for one specific item — mashed potatoes — and on all 5 of my visits, they’ve been unavailable every single time. 3 PM on a Tuesday? No mashed potatoes. Empty parking lot? No mashed potatoes. Just opened, no customers yet? Still no mashed potatoes. At this point, it’s hard to understand why the item remains on the menu if it’s never actually available. If you’re not going to prepare certain menu items, it would be better to remove them rather than repeatedly disappoint customers.
