Basic restroom access should be a common courtesy, especially for families, elderly people, or anyone dealing with an emergency. Requiring someone to spend money first feels inconsiderate and unwelcoming. Restaurants are supposed to provide comfort and convenience, and policies like this can make customers feel embarrassed or undervalued. It creates a negative experience that may push people to take their business elsewhere.
