Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
Customer service experiences varied widely, with some praising friendly staff while others reported rude behavior and slow service.
Food Quality
Food quality received mixed reviews; some customers enjoyed their meals while others complained about cold food, incorrect orders, and poor preparation.
Cleanliness
Several reviews mentioned cleanliness issues, particularly with the dining area and restrooms.
Speed of Service
Many customers expressed frustration with long wait times, both in the drive-thru and for in-store orders.
Vegetarian Options
Customers noted a lack of vegetarian options, which was a point of concern for some.

I visited Whataburger - 815 E. Burgess Rd at 6:00 PM on Friday expecting decent service during a normal dinner rush, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing due to poor management.
The restaurant appeared unorganized and the staff seemed overwhelmed with little direction. Orders were taking longer than expected, and there didn’t seem to be any sense of urgency or leadership on the floor. Customers were left waiting without clear communication about delays.
A busy Friday evening is not unusual for this location, so management should be prepared to handle the flow of customers efficiently. Better supervision, communication, and organization would make a big difference in the overall customer experience.
I hope leadership takes steps to improve operations because customers deserve better service.
POV: the non management the team was magnificent!! It was completely on management! Let’s be CLEAR!! Please don’t blame the regulator staff!!
