Last night we had a dinner here at 7:30. It was busy but we were seated quickly since I put my name on the waiting list online ahead of time. Shrimp appetizer was little bit salty side, but the flavor was great. Margarita sampler was fun and tasty. I liked a watermelon margarita the most. My chimichurri steak took a longer than it should since the kitchen had to make a new batch of chimichurri sauce. Our server kept communicating with us and explained why our food is taking so long. We were just happy and enjoying the appetizer, side salad and drinks while we were waiting. She came back again and apologized for the delay, and gave us a discount. That was very nice of the restaurant. We didn't bother waiting since we were chilling, but they treated us great. I loved how they keep communicating with us. We never had to wonder for our dinner. Steaks were so good, I love medium rare, and it came out perfectly, I would order it again if they have on the menu next visit.
Chocolate cake was absolutely huge and good. We ate some and took the rest Togo.

This Outback is exactly what it claims to be. It is a sports bar vibe with better than average food at good prices. Service is polite and professional and portions are generous. Steaks are affordable and usually good, cooked as ordered. Sides are very good as are apps. Salads are outstanding, fresh and not skimpy with ingredients.
Overall, I'd say 4.5 for this type of restaurant. Never disappoints.

I haven’t been to this location in four years because the service was so bad back then — and after this visit, I’ve been reminded exactly why I swore never to come here again. From the moment I walked in, the place felt tired, understaffed, and completely uninterested in having customers.
The service was painfully slow, not in the “they’re busy, be patient” way, but in the “did they forget we’re sitting here?” way. We waited forever just to place an order, and by the time the food finally arrived, it looked like it had aged during the journey. My steak was somehow both cold and overcooked, which is honestly impressive in the worst possible way.
The sides tasted like they’d been sitting around waiting for someone to rescue them. The server barely checked in, and the whole experience felt like a test of endurance rather than a meal.
After four years away, I gave them another chance — and they reminded me exactly why I shouldn’t have. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.

Outback Steakhouse has become a go-to for my kids, which says a lot. My oldest daughter chose Outback for her 14th birthday back in May, and just recently my youngest—who’s 11—picked it again for a dinner with the three of us.
Both of my daughters love the cheese and bacon fries, and they shared them as an appetizer (they disappeared fast). My youngest ordered the 6 oz sirloin, and I ordered the same. The steak was good overall—solid flavor and cooked well—but I’d rate it 4 out of 5 stars, which is why this is a 4-star review instead of 5. I paired mine with broccoli, which was actually really good and nicely seasoned.
My youngest also ordered the mac and cheese, which she really enjoyed. For dessert, she had the brownie with ice cream and shaved chocolate, and she loved it—almost finished the entire thing by herself.
Outback continues to be a kid-friendly, comfortable place for a family meal with reliable food and portions everyone can enjoy. We’ve had good experiences here over multiple visits, and it’s a place my kids genuinely look forward to.
Would definitely return.

Absolutely unacceptable experience.
We were not the only customers openly complaining. Service was very slow despite the restaurant not being crowded.
Our soup arrived cold. It was reheated, and then the main course arrived cold as well. At that point, it was clear the food had been sitting far too long.
The manager on duty voluntarily came to our table, apologized, and, fully aware of the situation, offered to have the food remade.
Unfortunately, when the food was remade, the quality was still unacceptable. The meat was poorly prepared, lacked care, and was nowhere near the standard of a properly cooked, quality cut.
After waiting over two hours, it became clear that despite the apology and the attempt to remake the food, the situation was not adequately resolved. Given the excessive delay and the impact on the entire dining experience, better discretion and customer-focused judgment from management would have been expected.
This level of service, food quality, and management response is simply not acceptable. Outback Steakhouse in Pensacola is not recommended!
