We dined in for breakfast and, after leaving, realized my partner accidentally left his phone on the table. Within minutes we returned, and “Find My Phone” showed the device was still at this location. When we asked a staff member—who appeared to be a lead or manager—she was rude, dismissive, and said she had “no time for this.” She claimed no phone had been found and walked away. Calling the phone went straight to voicemail, making it appear that the phone had been turned off. After we mentioned contacting police for an insurance report, her behavior suddenly changed. Shortly after, she was observed going to the front trash area, acting nervous, and moving items around. When police arrived and we asked to check the garbage, the phone was found hidden inside the garbage bin, between the bin and the bag—not inside the trash itself. This is not a coincidence. While it’s “just a phone,” the intent and behavior speak volumes and reflect very negatively on this location and the values it represents. Completely unacceptable.
