- RBReed BJan 5, 20263.0While the restaurant is clean and the service is good, the challenge with a place like this is there is a lot of competition in the area for Tex-Mex style food and while San Jose’s is fine - it’s really pretty average when compared to many of the other chain or independent options in the area. The fajitas and the combo plates will both get the job done but likely won’t be memorable enough to get you to return.

I had the Burritos Texans, daughter had Creamy Chipotle Chicken and roommate had Birra Tacos. Great Michelada! Queso was good and chips were freaking not a little broken. Service was prompt and we were well taken care of. Check it out instead of chains!

Here is the issue, the website is way off. We waited over an hour for our order. That’s right. 7:40pm order was ready. No apology. Nothing. This was our first time here and will not be returning.

We sat at the bar and was told we will need to wait. Five tables had 2 guest each and two other couples at the bar. One couple did have a drink in front of them. We waited 15 minutes and were never asked if we wanted a drink. We got up and left. The manager of this restaurant should never subject their employees or guest to this service. Either show up to work or shut the restaurant down.

We had the tamales as appetizers (half an hour wait) and those were excellent. It then took between 30 and 45 minutes for our entrees to come, and of the five dishes the chimichanga tasted as though the chefs had simply made a burrito and dropped it in the fryer, the enchiladas sauce has almost no spice to it, and the steak burrito had so much of the (quite bad) house cheese blend as to be inedible. Maybe they were having an off day, and that benefit of the dought is all that saves them from a worse rating than this one.
