I recently went to Paddlefish at Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida. I was excited to try it because I had seen it on social media, and as a local, I thought it would be a cool experience. The idea of eating on an actual boat made it feel unique.
When we arrived, there was about a 10 minute wait before being seated. The atmosphere was one of the best parts of the restaurant. The boat design and overall vibe were really nice, and I would rate the atmosphere a 4.5 out of 5.
I ordered the fried catfish with sautéed vegetables, and my wife had the snow crab seafood boil. The catfish was cooked well and had good flavor, but the portion size was small, with only 2 pieces. The vegetables were good, but overall I would rate my meal a 3 out of 5. The seafood boil was okay but lacked seasoning and was not very memorable.
The appetizers were better than the main dishes. We had fried calamari and lobster corn dogs, and both were cooked well. The sauces that came with them were really good and added a lot of flavor.
The best part of the experience was our server, Andy. His service was excellent and made the night much better.
The total bill was $166, and I left a $34 tip because of the great service. Overall, I think Paddlefish is a bit overpriced for the food, but I am glad I tried it and checked it off my bucket list.

We were visiting Disney Springs with my family and decided to have dinner at Paddlefish. It’s a fine-dining seafood restaurant that had been on our list for a while. Although we were quoted a 45-minute wait, we were seated much sooner.
While waiting, we grabbed cocktails from a nearby bar, and Paddlefish kindly allowed us to bring our drinks inside something we really appreciated, as many places would require you to finish them before entering.
We were a party of 10 and ordered a variety of dishes, including salmon, steaks, ahi tuna, fries, and oysters. Everything was delicious, perfectly cooked, and well seasoned.
The restaurant itself feels like you’re dining on a cruise ship anchored in Disney Springs. We went out to the deck for photos and to enjoy the beautiful views, which made the experience even more memorable.
I invite you to stop by and have the experience yourself !

I was really excited about coming here. However, unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience when my boyfriend and I went last month. Once we got seated, we barely saw our server so it took longer than usual to order our food and 40+ minutes to get our food (just a beef burger and crab cake burger). People that came in later than us ended up getting their meals before us as well. It wouldn’t have been that poor an experience if our orders hadn’t been messed up as well — the crab cake burger ended up getting the melted cheese slice that was supposed to be on the beef burger which was an offputting taste combo while the beef burger remained plain. With that mistake along with crab cake burger being dry & not fresh and the beef burger being OK, it was quite a letdown for the inattentive service and food not worth the price. Given that everyone else raves about Paddlefish, maybe we were the unlucky ones with the poor experience but it made us less likely to come back again.

We had an amazing experience at the Paddlefish. Evan was our server and from the start he made the night feel fun. I like to banter with servers and see if I can make them laugh, so before he even took our drink order I asked if I could be extremely complicated and ask for a favor. Without hesitation he said he’d take care of turning the music down for us. I joked that he could read minds and asked if he could guess what I wanted to drink. He didn’t miss a beat and said water, which was exactly right.
After that he took all of our drink orders and was incredibly patient with our group while we tried to decide on what we wanted. He asked the right questions and gave suggestions based on our mood rather than just listing menu items. I was on the fence about the grouper and explained how I usually like it prepared at other restaurants and why. Evan suggested using the preparation from the mahi and applying it to the grouper, which made a lot of sense. I was not completely sold on mashed potatoes with it, but that was about as close to rice as I was going to get, and it ended up working well with the dish.
While we were waiting on appetizers and dinner, the fireworks started going off. Evan convinced our daughters to head out to the balcony to watch and ended up leading all of us outside so we could enjoy it together. It was such a simple thing, but it made the night feel special.
We ended up talking about how much he loves working there and how cool it is that he gets to work at the same restaurant his mom helped open. You can tell he genuinely cares about the place and his customers.
When dinner arrived, the grouper was perfectly flaky and moist. For those that don’t know, grouper is an extremely easy fish to overcook and has very little margin of error.
The modifications were very close to how I like it at some of my other favorite restaurants. Between the food, the atmosphere, and Evan’s service, it was a fantastic experience and one we will definitely be back for.

We stopped by Paddlefish on the West Side of Disney Springs for our late Xmas dinner. You can’t beat the location—it’s inside that massive, iconic steam boat right on the water. The views of the lake are stunning, but unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the scenery.
The Starters: The Calamari ($19) was awesome—definitely the way to go. However, the Charred Octopus ($21) was way too chewy and tough and no flavor. We also tried the Mussels ($11), but the sauce was just "meh." I’ve honestly had better mussel sauce at Olive Garden.
The Mains: This is where it got disappointing, especially for the price. I’m a huge fan of seafood boils, so I ordered the Snow Crab Boil ($60). It was a letdown. The legs were huge but so dry, and there was barely any sauce. It felt like they’d been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. Also the sauce has no flavor as well. It's just flat. Our local seafood restaurant has a 1lb snow crab legs for $35.00, they come fresh and steamy inside a large plastic bag (cooked as ordered), and the sauce is packed with flavor and taste incredible, oh well..
My son, who loves shrimp, said his Shrimp Boil ($39) was also just "so-so"—the shrimp looked a bit pale and he didn't even finish them. My daughter’s Kids Burger came out medium when we asked for medium-well, so she wouldn't touch it. Luckily, she liked my expensive crab meat, so at least that $60 didn't go to waste!
The Bright Spots: My husband actually had the best meal—the Salmon ($35). It was tender, perfectly cooked, and the mashed potatoes were great. I also loved my mocktail (Strawberry Basil Lemonade); it had real fruit and fresh basil and was super refreshing.
Our server was fantastic and super attentive, so we had no problem leaving a 25% tip. But for a $258 bill, we expected way better food.
You are definitely paying "Disney prices" (tourist prices) here. While the boat and the view are beautiful and the service is great, the seafood quality did not justify the high cost. We’ve had much better meals for much less elsewhere.
It was a "one and done" for us. Next time, we’ll be heading back to Raglan Road for their consistently delicious Fish & Chips!
