Everything tastes fresh and authentic. Their coffee is rich, smooth, and easily one of the best around. I also want to highlight Gabriel, who provided exceptional service. He was attentive, helpful, and truly made the visit feel special. It’s rare to find staff who go the extra mile, and Gabriel definitely did. Overall, Mecatos feels like a little slice of Colombian culture in the neighborhood. Great food, great coffee, and outstanding customer service. I’ll definitely be coming back! ☕🥐🇨🇴

However, my experience during my most recent visit was disappointing. I stopped in to purchase a single pre-made Tres Leches from the refrigerated case located beside the register. Because I was not placing a custom or made-to-order food request, I approached the pickup/register area to avoid waiting behind several customers ordering full meals at the opposite end of the counter. When an employee arrived to assist another guest, I politely asked to purchase the dessert. Instead, I was instructed to return to the back of the main line. I explained that I only needed the one pre-packaged item directly next to her, yet I was still told to wait in line. Although the employee ultimately processed my purchase, the exchange took longer than the actual transaction. Requiring customers to wait behind a long line of made-to-order food orders for a single refrigerated, pre-made dessert is an unnecessary inconvenience and does not reflect efficient customer service. I hope management will consider adjusting this process to improve the experience for future guests. Thank you!
