I’ve been coming to House of Blues Orlando for almost 20 years, usually 3–4 times a year. I’ve always spoken highly of this venue — until last night.
What happened was not just disappointing. It was dangerous.
The venue was so overcrowded you could barely breathe. You couldn’t move. You couldn’t see the band. You couldn’t access the bar. It was shoulder-to-shoulder wall-to-wall, and anyone with basic common sense could tell the building was well beyond a safe capacity. If there had been an emergency, the outcome would have been catastrophic.
This wasn’t an accident. This was greed.
While standing in line, people behind us openly said they ate dinner at the restaurant and were given FREE tickets to the show, while many of us paid full price. So not only was the venue clearly oversold — tickets were being handed out on top of it. That’s reckless, irresponsible, and negligent.
To make matters worse, I personally brought 10 people who had never been to this show before. Several of them arranged babysitters, planned their night, and trusted my recommendation — only to have the entire experience ruined by your complete failure to manage crowd safety. I am embarrassed that I ever told them how great this venue used to be.
You can guarantee none of them will be back — and frankly, after nearly two decades of loyalty, I won’t be either.
I used to recommend House of Blues to everyone I knew. Now I’ll be telling people exactly how unsafe and poorly managed this venue has become. Even if this review makes a small dent in your sales, I hope it does something — because last night should never happen in a professional venue.
I am also planning on contacting OSHA and the Fire Marshal regarding the conditions inside the building.
This wasn’t just a bad night.
This was gross negligence.

We came to the concert venue for Saved By the 90s and it was an absolutely miserable experience. The event was completely oversold. You could not even walk from one side of the venue to the other to use the restroom without fully pressing you body to someone else from boobs to butt. There was no space whatsoever to stand comfortably and actually see the band. If you wanted a single inch of space, you needed to go to the corner or just leave. They were giving away free tickets to the event as of 2 days prior, making it an absolute miserable experience. It was an absolute safety and fire hazard. Would never go back to this venue.

Walked onto the outdoor patio and went up to the bar to order drinks. Sat down at a table and decided to order some food. Went back up to the bar to order food and the bartender said a server will take our order. A few servers walked by our table without saying anything. I stopped one server and told her I was ready to order. She said “oh I’m not your server.” I said “we don’t have a server.” She said “well she should be right with you.” A couple minutes later a woman walked up and said “what do you want?” I ordered Mac n cheese with bbq brisket. It came out maybe 5 minutes later. The brisket was good, the bbq was good (not enough imo) but the max n cheese was barely warm and very soggy. I could tell it was sitting under a warmer. 20 dollars and I maybe ate half of it. I’m now going somewhere else to order something to eat.

What an absolute disappointment. Been wanting to eat here for years. Finally made reservations and went straight there after a 4 hour drive from Miami. Was met with mediocre food (a burger the size of a McDonald’s cheeseburger and a handful of horribly seasoned Cajun fries) that was wayyy too overpriced for the quality and quantity of food, and subpar service. Our waiter clearly did not want to serve us. He was very friendly with the table across us. But for some reason, was dry and appeared almost bothered while waiting on us. I left there still starving and frustrated. Only upside was their drinks were good. I do not recommend this place to anyone who is hungry and wants good bang for your buck.

We came here on a whim from a Groupon deal, and let me tell you, this is hands down some of the best food I’ve had in Orlando. I would be happy to pay full price to come back here again whenever we visit next. The meats were cooked perfectly and the Mac and cheese was about as homestyle as you’d get at a restaurant (super cheesy and soooo good). The fries weren’t really worth getting as a side, but I would recommend the mashed potatoes! For a dry mashed potato (no butter), these are the most flavorful and best I’ve ever tried. It doesn’t need butter!
We took the desserts to go, but they weren’t not our preference. I’m sure others would like it more (we are not big on cake/pie), it just came with our Groupon so we got them anyways. I am not a red meat/BBQ kind of person, but if we had brisket like this where I’m from, I would be!! Overall I really really recommend this place
