The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was tasty. However, we won't likely return. Why? I'm not a fan of surprise charges. For instance, for dessert we ordered the rum cake which specifically says on the menu "served with ice cream," but we were actually charged an additional $1.50 for the ice cream. Also, when paying our check, we learned that there was an 2.8% upcharge when paying by credit card. Finally, we were pleased to learn that they offer military discount, but oddly this 5% discount only took 0.42 off our bill of $65.08. I'm still trying to figure out the math for that.

Authentic island flavor in OP? this spot is the real deal. Their strength is absolutely customer service! You can feel the passion the moment you walk in. This team loves people, loves to cook, and it shows in every plate they serve.
A true full‑service Caribbean restaurant, delivering bold, mouthwatering flavors that honor the spirit of the islands. Every protein is properly marinated, not just surface seasoned, so the flavor HITS all the way through. That’s their Irie promise: "One Love. One Flavor. One Experience You’ll Always Remember"
I tried the Jamaican jerk chicken, jerk pork tenderloin, and jerk ribs with cabbage and jerk fries, and every bite was incredible. Add in the live reggae music every Thursday and the complimentary coffee, and you’ve got an experience that feels like a mini‑vacation right here in OP.
Authentic food. Amazing people. Unforgettable vibes.

My family and I eat here often but we were very disappointed last Thursday, to receive our food like this…. Brown stewed chicken w/ beans and rice lukewarm and cabbage came ice cold. My spouses jerk chicken was also lukewwrm and dry. No freshness to any of it. This was a clear indication that we were served leftovers, which is unacceptable. To top it off, The only solution the waitress offered to fix the situation was to warm it up in microwave. Well that made the cabbage very soft. This was ridiculous! If I wanted leftovers I would have stayed home. Unacceptable!

This is my first time visiting Irie diner, and I wasn’t sure what think. I’ve tried many authentic Caribbean spots and it’s been hard to find a really good one in Jacksonville. When I came through the door, I was pleasantly greeted by the owner , I ordered oxtail, rice and PEAS (rice and beans) , and a sorrel drink. Everything was to my satisfaction. The owner even set the vibe of The restaurant by playing soca music upon my request. I’ve never met an owner that enjoyed his business so much to the point of dancing. This restaurant was a whole Caribbean vibe! I will definitely be back!
