  We went here as a family of four and honestly the experience just didn’t sit right with us. When we ordered, the server was super friendly and made a point to say that all the entrees come with rice and suggested we get garlic naan, which we did. But once the food started coming out, they only brought one bowl of rice for the table… even though three of us ordered entrees that were supposed to come with rice (and one biryani). When we asked about it, they said that one bowl equals two servings, which already felt a little off. We asked for more and they did bring another bowl pretty quickly, so no issue there. The problem was what happened right after. The server went over to who I’m assuming was the manager and, loud enough for us to hear, started complaining about us asking for more rice. That completely killed the vibe. Like… we’re a table of four spending close to $80–$90, and we’re being talked about over asking for extra rice? Not even an extra dish, just rice. As someone who’s desi, this is honestly one of my biggest frustrations with some Indian restaurants — the fake friendliness upfront that flips the second you turn around. It just makes the whole place feel unwelcoming. If you have something bad to say maybe don’t do it right in front of the customers that are sitting there paying for the food at your restaurant. Because of that interaction alone, we won’t be coming back. Food-wise, I’d give it maybe a 3/5 — it wasn’t bad, but definitely not something I’d go out of my way to have again.

  Food was decent but the portions did not match the price. Lots of sauce barely any meat for two dinners we received one container of rice to share. Customer service was good very friendly.

  Good food and best service. I ordered Lamb shank, OMG it was so good and tender, spice level is awesome and best paired with garlic naan and Red wine. I have been there several times but recently they changed their menu and it is far better than earlier. Thank you Desi Tadka for serving oldsmar since 2012.
