We moved to Ocala 4 months ago. In searching for a restaurant with tasty food that we cannot make better at home we tried El Mezcal and it was awesome. Giuseppe and Andrea were simply the best. We shared the Grande mix and the kitchen knocked our socks off ! We love the house margaritas and cannot wait to return.

I was happy that this Mexican restaurant has a dedicated frier for the chips so I can eat them being gluten allergy. My wife's food was very good but my cheese Enchiladas were to much cheese. The red sauces isn't gluten free which is disappointing the green sauce i don't like so I asked for queso. It was good the first few bites but hardened quick making it hard to eat. I would be back but getting something else. The waiter charged me for the quaso and didn't tell me. He took care of it. I would recommend this restaurant.

Went on a busy night (called a few other places in the area and all had 45min-1hr wait) but they sat us right away and brought out a nice and warm serving of chips and salsa. Food was good, full of flavor but nothing overpowering. Service was great staff checked on us regularly and was very friendly. Atmosphere was nice, clean, but pretty standard and generic to most Mexican restaurants in the area.

On entering, the music was quite loud. They did lower the volume after we asked. The service was fairly slow and it took a long while for the orders to come out. The food taste was fine, but the vegetables, especially the broccoli, was cut way too large for the vegetable fajitas. The decor is quite nice, very colorful.

The staff were all very nice and sweet. But I think they had too much business and could not keep up. We do follow a very strict vegan diet. And also Im a type one diabetic so lol eating out is always a challenge. My wife ordered a vegetarian enchilada no dressings, she got it with a creamy mayo based dressing. She sent it back expecting a plate with out a mayo based dressing but to our dismay when it came back after a long wait it was the same enchilada they I dont know who kitchen or wait staff just scooped out the dressings. It was still there how doo you remove mayo based dressing from beans and rice. The epitome of apathy. We couldn't believe it. When we complained and asked to see the manager they said he is on the line cooking no excuse he couldn't give a .... He should have stopped and come to see us. After all we are the customer, with out customers there is no restaurant. My fajita was very burnt and refried beans served on a flat plate?? It looked like someone got sick. The best part of the dinner is we sent it all back. In closing let me say, dont eat here. Unless you want subpar food and service. this company does not train it's staff well, including managers. I can say this ,I have been in the restaurant business 50 years.
