Norwood’s Restaurant & Treehouse Bar is one of the most unique dining experiences in New Smyrna Beach. The treehouse bar alone is worth the visit - built up in the trees with lights strung throughout, it has a laid-back but memorable atmosphere that feels like a hidden spot you’d never find on your own. The food backs it up too. They’re known for fresh seafood, but the menu is broad - everything from steaks and pasta to solid shareable plates like shrimp & grits and bacon-wrapped scallops. It’s one of those places where a group can go and everyone finds something they want. Service is friendly, the place runs smoothly even when it’s busy, and the whole experience feels like a staple of the area. It’s been around since the 1940s, and you can tell it’s a spot locals and visitors both keep coming back to. If you’re in New Smyrna, this is one of those places you should hit at least once - especially for drinks up in the treehouse.

This place is a not-so-hidden gem of NSB. If you have one night in NSB, you go to The Garlic, if you have two nights, or one night and one lunch the next day, then you go to The Garlic, THEN Norwoods Treehouse. Both places are unique and fantastic. We went here for lunch, I got the seafood Alfredo, and my wife got the almond encrusted grouper, both meals were absolutely fantastic.

We were informed the food is prepped each morning fresh by the kitchen staff. Gluten free options are available which was nice to see! Specialty cocktails were made to perfection and the outdoor seating in the tree top is very unique. There was a 45 minute wait for our table and we got a text to confirm our spot in the dining queue. After about an hour we checked back in with the front of house and there was some misshap that didn't add us to the queue. Afterwards, we were promptly seated and served.

Great experience being able to eat up in the TreeHouse! I always wanted to try this place so my fiance and were able to come here on a Saturday, and luckily had reservations made to be able to sit up in the treehouse. Service was fast and friendly. The food was great! I had the lettuce wraps and the she crab soup, which was amazing. My fiance had the French onion soup which was amazing; he also had a jerk chicken with mac n cheese which was okay, the mac and cheese was a bit watery and not cheesy really. We also had a s’mores cake with ice cream which was delicious but it’s HUGE! If you’re starving or have I would say at least 3 people to split it would be perfect! I love how big of a wine selection they have as well. I would come back for sure, maybe for drinks and apps, not 100% sure on dinner though; but would recommend it for all wine lovers!

We look forward to going to Norwood’s for a good meal when we visit for the month of February each year. We usually go numerous times. We were seated right away tonight order our food then additional people came to tables around us and our food was so delayed that the other tables all had their food and we’re pretty much done eating when our food was served. The steak came out well done when it was supposed to be medium rare they asked if we want another steak, but since we waited so long, we said no. Also, the bacon wrapped scallops were overcooked. The bacon was burnt. Some of the food was cooled down like it was sitting for a little while the manager Rachel came over And was not very helpful. They comped one person, a free dessert. Very disappointing there are too many good restaurants in this town to put up with that kind of service.
