But the best were the kimchi collards! I would vacation here again just to go back to this restaurant. Leave some room for dessert because the pecan pie is yummy.
- EKEdward KlekotkaApr 17, 20212.0We are moving to Burnt Pine in Sandestin and thought this would be the perfect gathering place when friends and family are in town. We were wrong. My son and family came in for spring break and we had dinner here. Our service was excellent and the staff were very accommodating. The food, was marginal. The menu was limited and the choices were just not fun and very atypical for this area. I drink Manhattans and my drink was served in a glass so small, Mary Poppins would have rejected it. We had several appetizers but one, a snapper plate, is raw snapper in some type of sauce. Yuck! Another was the broccolini, which came out black and was returned. Our son ordered fish, which was tasty, but small, but....his plate came out 12 minutes before our meat dishes. He was done well before any of us even had the food in front of us. Our filet mignon was served with mashed potatoes with a portion the size of a tablespoon, why bother? I do not buy its "early days" and "mistakes are made until all the glitches are worked out". If you want to promote yourself as a 4-5 star restaurant, you better act the part immediately. We paid $500 for our dinner and assuredly, not worth anywhere near that amount. Very sad dining and such a shame since we felt the hotel itself was beautiful and well worth the stay, just eat elsewhere.
