The meat prep was haphazard, they overcooked or left cooked past due date for service, the birria felt murdered and greasy. And best of all, ended up with Montezuma’s revenge somehow. The tortillas were ok. They were nice, and cmon it’s just a local fast dining joint serving traditional-ish tacos, but when something is ranked 4.9 and turns out to be below subpar, it deserves a poor review. I think their food prep needs an overhaul, but I seem to be in the minority. Note: I’m a gringo but grew up in Chicago visiting authentic traditional places, have been to Mexico numerous times and not afraid of tripe, lengua etc. I know what good tacos are about.
