We just wanted to say thank you to both Norman and Wilson. Norman was amazing , so friendly, attentive, and truly on top of everything. He made our experience feel easy and enjoyable from beginning to end.
And Wilson, it’s clear you run a great team. The service, the atmosphere, everything felt organized and welcoming. You can tell there’s strong leadership behind it all.
We really appreciated the hospitality and can’t wait to come back!

Hostesses were rude. Velvet rope completely a power move gone wrong.. LOS ESQUITES was not street corn it was dry hominy. QUESO FUNDIDO CHORIZO Was chewy and a solid blob of cheese. Pork taco had nice flavor but the texture of canned cat food. Waiter did remove 2 items but not without a smirky attitude. Restaurant is all show and no substance, which is so on brand for Miami.

Had an awesome experience at Koko — the vibe is great, the cocktails are on point, and the service really elevated the night. Juan took amazing care of us: super friendly, attentive without hovering, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu and drinks.
Also, do yourself a favor and try the Manojo mezcal — Juan recommended it and it pairs incredibly well with basically any of the cocktails. We’ll definitely be back.

This has been one of my favorite Mexican restaurants for years, which makes this especially disappointing to write. Recently they started a new policy where they block off the entrance with a rope before the hostess stand. After each party checks in and is seated, the rope is clipped back across — almost like a nightclub setup.
I completely understand managing the flow of guests. But this setup feels less welcoming and more like “stand back, we’ll decide when you’re worthy.” It’s awkward. It’s uninviting. And it definitely doesn’t match the warm, lively vibe koko is known for. especially with the hostess standing there awkwardly.
The food is still fantastic (which is why this pains me), but the first impression now feels weirdly exclusive and off-putting. I never thought I’d feel like I needed a VIP wristband to order tacos and find this off putting as other neighboring tables commented.
Please lose the rope. We’re just here for good food, margaritas, not a club experience.

Finally, an outstanding restaurant offering excellent quality at a fair and well-balanced price point—neither cheap nor expensive, simply appropriate for the experience delivered.
The service was excellent, with special recognition to Jorge F., who provided attentive, professional, and genuinely warm service throughout the meal. The interior design is elegant and welcoming, with thoughtful details that make guests feel comfortable and well cared for.
The tamarind margarita was exceptional. For food, we ordered melted cheese with chorizo, guacamole, zucchini blossom quesadillas, the flank steak taco tray, and the chocolate brownie. Every dish was delicious, served at the proper temperature, and delivered with a well-paced and carefully executed service sequence.
The atmosphere was lively, with a fun and stylish crowd that added great energy to the space. Although the 18% service charge is included—which I personally don’t favor, even if it has become common—the overall experience was highly satisfying.
Our total was $211.68 for four people, which felt very reasonable given the quality of food, service, and ambiance. We will definitely return.
