This place is amazing!! The food is great but if you want to try something real good you need to try Fish a la Talla and a Caipirinha, these two are a blast, they were recommended to me by the manager Jovel, very attentive person, he is a really good asset to this place. Thank you Jovel for the recommendation. Will definitely be back.

I’ve frequented this restaurant for years and used to genuinely enjoy their happy hour, but each visit lately has felt like a decline in both service and quality while prices continue to rise and portions shrink.
This last visit was by far the worst. The restaurant was completely empty_ we were the only two guests_ yet the experience was disappointing across the board. The music (very loud cubaton) made it uncomfortable to sit and talk. Service was inattentive and disorganized.
The food was unacceptable. The soft tortilla tacos were clearly microwaved. The ceviche tostada was stale and tasted fishy, and the sweet potato was undercooked and hard. It honestly felt rushed and poorly prepared.
To make matters worse, we were charged for canchitas served in what was essentially a ketchup-sized dish. When my daughter asked to bring the hottest sauce available, the waitress didn’t know which one as she did not like hot sauce and brought three different ones and then we were charged for all three. Charging $3 per small sauce when you have two guests in an empty restaurant is not good business, it’s short-sighted!
Sadly, this was the final straw for me. Poor service, declining food quality, and nickel-and-diming loyal customers is not a recipe for success. You’ve lost a long-time customer and Aromas de Peru has now gained one instead.

I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for quite some time, especially because I live in Miami and it’s located in such a prime area. Given its location and reputation, I expected a well-run establishment with attentive service and quality food. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from beginning to end.
From the moment we were seated, the service felt disorganized. We were asked if we wanted water, and when asked about additional drinks, we politely requested 3–5 minutes to look at the menu. The server agreed, yet almost immediately another staff member approached asking for our drink order. This lack of communication between staff created an unnecessary feeling of being rushed rather than welcomed.
Shortly after ordering, I visited the restroom, which was in unacceptable condition. There was paper scattered across the floor, the trash bins were overflowing, and the overall cleanliness was clearly neglected. Restroom upkeep is a direct reflection of management standards, and this immediately lowered our confidence in the restaurant’s attention to detail.
Regarding the food, several issues stood out. My aunt and I both ordered cheeseburgers, yet no one asked how we would like the meat cooked — a basic and essential question for any burger order. I also ordered a strawberry lemonade that tasted exactly like regular lemonade. When I mentioned it, it took approximately 5–10 minutes to receive a replacement, and the quality was still underwhelming.
We ordered soup, and while the bowl itself was hot, the soup was lukewarm — suggesting it had been sitting rather than freshly prepared. Additionally, the lomo saltado lacked balance and had an unpleasant bitter taste, which was surprising for such a classic dish.
To conclude the meal, we ordered an espresso. After waiting about 10 minutes with no update, we had to cancel the order entirely. Our server, Pedro, apologized and offered to provide it complimentary or to-go, but at that point the issue was not about compensation — it was about the overall lack of attentiveness and coordination throughout the dining experience.
Despite everything, we paid our bill in full and still left a tip, as we were not seeking a discount — we simply expected a standard level of service and quality.
As we were leaving, we asked to speak with a manager to provide feedback. While explaining the situation near the entrance, the host signaled another employee to listen to our conversation. The employee proceeded to linger nearby, clearly listening in. This behavior felt unprofessional and uncomfortable. Instead of a sincere effort to address the concerns, we were offered a $25 gift certificate, which felt more like a quick attempt to resolve the complaint rather than a meaningful acknowledgment of the multiple issues we experienced.
Overall, the visit reflected poor management oversight, inconsistent service, lack of attention to cleanliness, and subpar food quality. Given the restaurant’s location and reputation, the standards should be significantly higher. I hope leadership takes this feedback seriously and implements improvements.

I would like to highlight the excellent service provided by Adalberto at this restaurant. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly attentive, kind, and helpful. He made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit and paid close attention to every detail with a very professional and welcoming attitude.
It’s clear that he truly cares about the guests’ experience, and that made a big difference for us. His service truly elevated our time at the restaurant.
Thank you for such dedicated attention — we will gladly return!
I’ve been visiting Jaguar Restaurant in Coconut Grove very often, and while the food remains flavorful and well‑prepared, the portions continue to feel small for the price point.
The space is spacious, clean, and inviting, which makes the ongoing decline in service even more disappointing. Over our last several visits, the service has consistently slipped. Staff repeatedly attempted to clear plates while we were still eating, and it was difficult to get anyone’s attention for additional orders, even with only a few tables occupied well after the lunch rush. This isn’t an isolated incident, it has become a recurring pattern each time we return.
At this point, we’ve decided to take a break from dining here until the service is elevated back to the standard that once matched the quality of the food and atmosphere. With stronger training and more attentive hospitality, Jaguar could easily return to being one of our favorite spots in the Grove.
