- DRdiana riggsDec 28, 20251.0We were a party of 10. Three of us ordered milkshakes. Each of us could not drink our shakes because of a nasty chemical oily taste. We had several of the people in our party taste them and all agreed that there was something very wrong with the product. One in our party said it smelled like easy off oven cleaner. I owned an Arby's franchise and remember how important it was to clean and rinse the shake machine. We took them back and explained that the shakes had a bad taste. We suggested that the machine may not of been cleaned and rinsed properly and some of the solution was still in the machine. They offered to make new ones and I said I would just take a diet coke. The guy insisted just to make new ones instead. The shakes came some time later and were as bad if not worse. The manager never checked back with us. We left them on the table and left. We were all positive that someone could become very ill if they drank those shakes. I told one of the girls on my way out that this issue needs to be addressed and warned her that something was not right to maybe stop selling them until the problem was resolved. Needless to say, we will not be back.

From the moment we walked into Smashburger, the difference was night and day. We were greeted immediately, the staff was friendly and attentive, and they actually acknowledged us like customers. Unbeknownst to us at the time, Smashburger was closing in about 15 minutes. Despite that, the team went above and beyond to take care of us. They prepared fresh, hot, and delicious burgers, fries, and tots, all while maintaining a great attitude and never making us feel rushed or unwelcome. After a frustrating evening, Smashburger completely turned things around. Great food, excellent service, and staff who clearly care. This is how it should be done. We’ll definitely be back.
